Spring Training Baseball in Port Charlotte ⚾☀️ This past week, we headed to Charlotte Sports Park to watch the @Detroit Tigers take on the Tampa Bay Rays—and it did not disappoint! 🐯🌞 ✅ Gates open 1.5 hours before game time, giving you plenty of time to watch batting practice and maybe even snag a foul ball like Gunnar did! 🏆 🚗 Parking is $15 and opens 2.5 hours before first pitch—get there early for a good spot! 🎒 Bags are allowed (within size restrictions), but outside food and drinks are not, except for one sealed water bottle per person. 💳 It’s a cashless venue—bring your card or mobile pay! We loved exploring the outfield boardwalk, where you can peek into the bullpens, and the tiki bar was buzzing with fans from both teams. If you’re bringing little ones, there’s even a playground to help them burn off some energy before the game. Come game time, we sat among a sea of Tigers fans, soaking up the sun and cheering on our team! 🌴⚾ Who else is catching a spring training game this season? #SpringTraining #MLB #TigersBaseball #PortCharlotte #CharlotteSportsPark #BaseballLife #SpringTraining2025 #DetroitTigers #TampaBayRays #GrapefruitLeague #BaseballRoadTrip #VisitFlorida #ThingsToDoInFlorida #FamilyTravel #BaseballFan #FloridaBaseball

This is a very charming ballpark that has a lot of character. Lots of space to walk around and potentially snag a foul ball. Which I did! Very friendly staff and good food options. Parking is good but it can take a while to leave.

I took my three young sons to a practice there, and took my oldest for a game. My experience was actually pretty great. Most of the staff is very friendly, especially with the little ones. My little guys were each given a practice used baseball by different staff members and even Rays management. Very few of the staffers seemed unhappy as if they did not want to be there. Particularly standoffish and non responsive.

The grounds were mostly open to observe the players during practice. The facility in my opinion was very clean and orderly.

As others have mentioned, there really isn’t a bad seat in the place. I’ve also found that most of the regular fans there are top notch and very kind. I’d say they even enhance the experience a bit with their energy and kindness toward the much younger fans.

I will also have to agree that the parking situation and the alleviation of the leaving crowd leaves a lot to be desired. Seems that traffic control (CCSO) isn’t handled very well, especially for this stadium being out and away from very busy commercial and residential areas.

All things considered, this is a great time at a clean ball field, among some very decent people. Definitely something I will do again often and I will suggest to...

OK lol I’m not gonna lie, when we drove up to go through the holiday lights drive-thru they had set up here, I was quite skeptical…it looked like a medium sized “field” area space so instantly assumed this would be a little lame and kinda a bust..but thought, for the price (which was super low for the carload) we might as well try. WELL, I absolutely have to say that while it was no award-winning, show stopping display, what they were able to do with this little drive thru light show was impressive and quite surprising! Not to mention they had you tune to the radio and had their lights at some point synchronize with the music playing in our car. It was a lot of fun and small as it was the lights all worked. everything was super cute and there was a lot to see in that little space! We absolutely do it again and recommend it to anybody for a fun little side trip during the holiday season if you’re looking for things to do locally 🎄🎅🏻 My knowledge this was their first year here setting that up so hopefully next year will be just as good if not even better and I look forward to taking the kids again and checking it out ! Also, I got a great deal on Groupon for the...

On a beautiful Florida day we decided to go to baseball game in this comfortable, well maintained stadium. Traffic and parking is difficult as expected. Before the game started the "music " began at a decibel level that had to be approaching dangerous making casual conversation impossible. Every announcement was accompanied by a heavy dose of thumping music making it impossible to understand what was being said. It was as if an adolescent had gotten control of the sound system. I sought relief elsewhere in the park. I returned to my seat in the third inning and found things toned down a bit and was able to enjoy a little conversation with my friends and the sights and sounds of the game which is why we went there in the first place. Overall, inspite of the beautiful day and venue, I found this to be a...
