First place I've seen with shade trees. Bathrooms are clean! With mirrors above the sinks, lots of toilet paper, foam soap, and air dryers and no graffiti! Yay! It is located further down the street by the baseball field, basketball and tennis courts and playground. A Yelp review said there are car break-ins! Please pay attention to your neighbors. Late Sunday morning, there were no aggressive dogs, and the park looked clean from any dog poop and stickers. They must be keeping up with the property. May want to bring some mosquito and fly repellant and a portable fan for days near and over 100°, though. Even in the shade, It's like a sauna! You are welcome to bring your own baby pool but must take it home wtih you. There is also an individual section between large and small dog parks, by the entrance that has a water hose to spray your pups down. There are 2 entrances, one at each end of the small dog park and 7 enjoyable bench areas, with one of the benches a swinging bench, and one right by the entrance, no individual pic, all sectioned nicely apart for privacy. I'd love to return!

Great park. Super clean. Lots of space for the dogs. Several water fountains too. Will definitely be back

First time at the dog park. Small dogs under 35 lbs side had many dogs, our dog is 6 months old puppy but weights 42 lbs, was kind of reluctant to go into big dogs area. We saw only 2 big dogs so went in. Puppy was running around and was playing with two big dogs also. Owners kept an watchful eye. There is a play ground, tennis court, basketball court and restrooms nearby. Only thing we didn't like is people didn't pickup after their dogs and there's so much poop everywhere.

EDIT MAY 5, 2023 I absolutely love this dog park when it's like this: Jasper and I are the ONLY ones here! Is that mean? If so, sorry...kind of. It's just that it is soooooo peaceful here today. And we are literally the only ones here; plus, there's only 2 cars across the parking lot at the "big dog side." I don't get it! It is waaay hotter than it has been, but there's still a good beeeze. Maybe because it's Cinco de Mayo? Well, whatever the reason, it's simply lovely!! (Now only 1 car across the way.) A friend just texted and is on her way, so my reading solitude will soon end, but what a great day to be with my pup at the park! (I posted a new picture of Jasper, plus one of Bluebell, my friend, Mike's Australian shepherd, from yesterday.)

EDIT of 11/2022 Jasper and I continue to come here as often as we can. During the summer and this fall, we would come at minimum 3 times per week, and often, 4-5 trips! I just can't deny Jasper the pleasure he gets from playing here. And, honestly? I've made a close friend whom I probably wouldn't have met if not for being at this dog park. So Tipps really has benefits - good ones - for canines as well as humans! I'm only sad that, as the weather turns colder, Jasper and I won't be here as much. 😪

This was our 4tb or 5th time at this dog park, and I still say it's a Godsend! Our Jasper absolutely loves it! I'm amazed at how well it is maintained, and it's a really good place for dogs who are "runners" (dogs who ignore the "Come" command/or take off w/no hesitation once off-leash)! I told my husband that Tipps dog park would be a great "antidepressant." The Rx would read, "Take a visit to the dog park, once a day, followed by lots of petting and licks to the face." (or something like that 😀) One would have to try very hard NOT to be happy here!! By the way: fellow dog lovers are aplenty at Tipps - and everyone is eager to talk and share stories about their own pups; very friendly...

This is a great dog park with a HUGE place to run for your pooches. There are some shade trees and the city does a really good job taking care of the grounds. There are other dogs there almost any time of day. Some people walk the perimeter of the park while their dogs play and get some exercise.

The city closes the park on Wednesday mornings for maintenance, so plan accordingly.

A note about small children there: I bring my kids with me often because, well, the dog has to get her exercise and I don't have childcare for the kiddos every time I need to take her to the park. That being said, I'm very careful about this for two reasons - 1) kids under a certain age (I can't remember how old) aren't allowed per the rules posted at the park; 2) kids are small, and therefore very vulnerable at a dog park. When I have to take my 18 month old daughter, I either hold her the whole time, or we stay by the picnic table at the front entrance, not mingling with the dogs too much. And I wouldn't take her in the evenings after work when it just gets too busy. There are just too many dogs during that time and even though 99% of the time things are fine, you can't ever be careful. Dog fights can and will happen at dog parks. If your dog is aggressive, they have no place at a dog park!

My son is now really used to going, at six. But I still make sure he is always close to me and that we are right next to a bench in case I need to get...
