We would give 5 Stars if not for Paulette. We had our wedding here in Aug. 2020. Paulette did a poor job communicating with us throughout the planning process. She was difficult to reach via both phone and email which caused us to not have our month before meeting. They also changed/got rid of several napkin colors at the last minute leaving us without our napkin color 2 weeks before our even. We were also told we would be invited to a wedding prior to ours so we could see the flow - this didn't happen. At the food tasting last Feb, I was told the peppers and sausage pasta could be made without the peppers as a vegetarian option, only to be told that wasn't available 2 weeks prior. Two days before the ceremony, we were informed that there was another ceremony in a different part of the park after ours and the chairs from our ceremony would be removed prior to the end of our contracted time. Paulette originally told us on days with events, she arrives to the grounds early to allow for set up, however she did not get there until noon when we had a 4:30 ceremony. (She was there well before noon the following day for another event). On the day of our wedding, Paulette argued with my husband, mother, photographer, and coordinators because we were running 10 minutes behind our start time, despite having a 30 minute ceremony in a space that was reserved for 1 hour. She made a very ugly comment stating "Y'all have all of these coordinators and still can't get it together." After the ceremony concluded, we were taking pictures on the terrace and we were forced out due to her booking a rehearsal after our ceremony time, thus causing us to miss several desired pictures. Our cocktail hour was designed to be in the hallway to allow my husband and I a first look at the venue. We were unable to do our first look at the reception area due to her changing the cocktail hour to extend into the ballroom without our knowledge claiming it was a fire hazard to have people in the hall past 1 hour.
On the positive end, the park was an absolutely beautiful space for a wedding, especially with the fountains going. The terrace was a great option for a socially distant wedding as it provides space in the balcony and off to the side. Trisha (part of the catering team) was a delight. She was very sweet and made sure my husband and I had all our needs during the reception. The food was better than expected -maybe consider changing the name of spaghetti pie to baked spaghetti- and the drinks were...
Read moreOK let's just start with this place is fabulous the park itself is Filled with little gems like a bridge and a bench swing just all kinds of great little things I was a second shooter photographer for a wedding I had never been inside the building before to my surprise very nice amenities fantastic balcony off from the party Room and behind building where the ceremony is performed beautiful water Lake and gigantic fountain as a back drop the wait staff hardworking beautiful professional polite people. It was an eclectic group of different race people working. The thing I like the most is that I could tell that they care about their job and giving good service so to my surprise the person who seemed to be in charge was rude overzealous and needed to calm down and learn how to make guests feel welcome. The bride and groom reserve the area until 6:00 p.m. To have their ceremony but between 5 and 530 the person who was in charge seem to be doing everything she could to push them out of the area. Then inside the building were people were going into for the reception she seemed to be pushing them in hurdling them to move faster through the hallway this was totally confusing to me I don't know what was behind this but it left me a gasp. Finally she disappeared into an office and left us in the capable hands of the staff I'm here to tell you again they were great from the bartender the wait staff the gentlemen who carefully took the wedding cake back to the kitchen to be cut so professional. It was very hard to believe that this caring waite staff had that woman as a leader, I truly hope that we just called her on a bad day with all the things that are going on in the country right now but that did not take away from the overall experience which was fabulous the bride and groom were happy, love...
Read moreI love this place, but until they have a better system for parking this should probably have remained a one star review. Just got a $45 fine ... And $3.99 processing fee! Ridiculous... Treat your community better. I would love to see how this was substantiated in community meetings.
I'd fight this as I was a paying customer, but my guess is I didn't submit the parking validation. I had a friend that had the same thing and the pro shop said they'd take care of it... Instead he found himself paying 45 + 3.99 AND a $40 late fee on top. 🤣 Get it together.
I'm surprised they don't even give you a citation on the spot... Had no idea until it showed up in the mail. This is ridiculous... And you are using a processor located in Florida and not locally... The least you could do is use a local vendor to handle your parking management. I shouldn't be surprised... You have so many great reviews until parking fees were put in place.
As a side note... You have such a beautiful clubhouse that remains closed after covid outside of private events. The pro shop is not welcoming in appearance as it's all blocked off... Your people are always friendly, but the facility itself...
