Hysterically ewww yuck. Sign reads "tennis courts"....uh not. Only one and it has no net. Then there is the one basketball court....has nets but...might as well not. Totally shredded. This is the worst park I have ever been to in my life. On my way in, in the middle of the day on Saturday, I get tailed by their mall...er, park guard. This Barney Fife wannabe follows me in, swings his truck around for a good vantage point, with the top flashing light spinning the whole time....we got him, Dano! It was a long drive to Hilliard to check out these excruciatingly sad parks that've seen better days, so I wanted to use the rest room. Ha! Not just a lock. This was a 10-key combination high security lock. Wow. Yeah, that'll fix your buckeye junkie problem. Nevermind big pharma and your failed drug war. Put the bathrooms on lockdown so the crackheads and squatters can't hide in there, plus the little boys and girls playing in the childrens' area 40 feet away can't go in and fungy up all the sparkling clean facilities thereby creating more work...ugh, gotta take off the seat belt. Anyway, I made sure to laugh at Barney on my way back to my car...and he made sure not to look at me as he drove away. Ego intact. There are so many better parks than this hole. Do yourself a favor and GO THERE. This was a microcosm of the outcome of republican austerity and ruby red central Ohio suburbia conservative control. Completed underfunded and an iron-tight, high security,...
Read moreWow, this area has really expanded and improved. I remember when the hill and pond were first put in! Swimming pool and surrounding areas have been expanded and upgraded. Now they have a new Pavillion for concerts and other venues. Plenty of room for food trucks and kids play. They have basket ball and sand volley ball courts, and now have 2 new pickle ball courts. My family really enjoyed our visit for July 4th fireworks and we felt pretty safe as the friendly Hilliard police were all around on bicycles. We played volley ball and pickle ball while one band played live on stage. Then we went to a couple food trucks for dinner, and atr on the hill as we waited for dusk. Only problems we had were 1. Not knowing which way to position our selves to view the fire works, and 2. The last band that played before the fire works really sucked! He was either really drunk or acting like it while singing about drinking. He's not good for family friendly crowds, if you know what I mean! The girl before him was muc, much better! I later heard that the headliner band didn't even get a chance to play because some one messed up the timing of it all leading up to the fire works. But we still had a good time and will plan to return...
Read moreWay to develop yet another Columbus area disc golf course that:
Loves the challenge of constant pedestrian interference and placing holes next to roads and paths meant for non disc golf activity
Loves the challenge of their disc and feet avoiding dog poo because there are a lot of lazy dog owners who use public parks to leave the waste on the ground
Is completely biased in favor of right hand disc golfers. This one is the worst of the area courses in that regard.
All water hazards and wooded technicals favor righties. Hole 7 has a wide open sewer drain maybe 30 feet from the basket, that of course is in the line of a left hand hyzer toss or even an errant BH by a lefty.
The...
