First off, kudos to Marin County for putting a bike park in. There are a number of places in the area to ride, but as far as i know, Stafford Lake bike park is the only bike specific park around. No need to worry about hikers or horses on the trails.
The park has limited numbers of trails, but there's a little something for everyone. A skills trail with wooden obstacles leads to a flow trail, there's a larger, steeper flow trail that allows side-by-side racing, and a section with jumps and whatnot for those who are in to that sort of thing.
There's also two small flow tracks/pump tracks for little kids. I've seen kids as you g as 3 or 4 using glider bikes, and loving it, but older riders also use them.
The technical trails are all directional, so no need to worry about oncoming traffic, and sight lines are pretty open, so it's easy to see anyone ahead of you.
As mentioned, there are plenty of other places to ride, but the bike park is a great place to practice and improve your skills on berms, whoops and jumps, and to let younger kids get a little experience with some good obstacles...
Read moreStafford Lake Park is an amazing lake Park in Novato! The picnic areas offer stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains, making it a perfect spot for gatherings or a relaxing day outdoors. The park is clean, peaceful, and beautifully maintained, with well-marked trails that are great for a scenic walk or light hike. Restrooms are very clean and easily accessible, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. The only downside is that dogs aren’t allowed, but it’s still an amazing place for families and friends to connect with nature, enjoy a picnic, and take in...
Read moreGreat park. Tons of tracks, appropriate for all ages and skills. It was busy, but - for the most part - everyone was really nice and respectful about giving younger kids their space. There's even a little 'learn to ride' lot for the really little kids. My husband is an avid rider and he loved it too. Plenty of challenging routes for the advanced crowd. Lots of parking ($5 fee), and easy access to the park. There's a beautiful lake and a nice playground on site as well. Great weekend outing--the whole family is...
