Kahana Beach Park turned out to be an excellent decision for us. After indulging in some delicious acai bowls from Coconut Joe, we decided to make our way to this park, and it was a moment of pure serendipity.
This park offers a combination of tranquility and stunning views that make it an ideal spot to relax and savor your food. We found a quiet spot to sit down, and as we enjoyed our acai bowls, we were treated to the soothing ambiance of the park. What made it even more special was the relative lack of crowds during our visit, allowing us to relish the peacefulness even more.
Although we hadn’t planned for a swim and didn’t have swimwear, we decided to kick off our shoes and let the sand and gentle waves embrace our feet. It was a simple yet delightful experience, reminding us of the joys of being close to nature.
Kahana Beach Park is a hidden treasure for those seeking a peaceful moment by the shore. Whether you come here with swimwear ready or just want to enjoy the sand and beach like we did, it’s a place we highly recommend for its serene beauty and...
Read moreThis campsite gets a five simply because, in comparison to campsites in the rest of the world, the view here is incredible. Ok snorkeling, very sandy and shallow so not very good visibility. The campsites are adjacent to the road which is the only road going around the island, so you'll hear a lot - emphasis a lot - of road noise. wild chickens overrun the area, so expect a rooster wake up call starting at 4 a.m. and ongoing.
The posted rules don't seem to be enforced. The notion about securing the parking area after hours is bogus. Alcohol use and open fires are prohibited, but they were in plain sight. I was concerned about campsites 9 and 10, which are furthest from the parking area, but we safely parked alongside the road closer to the camp sites...

If you like paddleboarding, there is a little river that you can take that will lead you from one side of the beach to another. There is a lot of parking, but on weekends it gets full. They have picnic tables, port a johns, and fresh water showers. The only downfall is that a lot of the time there is seaweed that washes up to the edge of the water and...
