⚠️ Seriously read the signs⚠️ If you see signs for the Man of war jellyfish take them seriously and watch where you walking. Do NOT touch them even if you think they are dead they can still sting. Seriously pay attention to all the signs!! The jellyfish and Man of war travel with the tides and the storms so they tend to be predicted if they are going to be here.
If you are visiting the island check the local news stations they can help let you know what beaches are more likely to have jellyfish and where the surf is best.
The majority of the time when there are not jellies. The beach is absolutely beautiful and perfect for swimming, walking/running on the beach, paddle boarding, loads of people kite surfing, kayaking, ECT. The waves🌊 are really calm and it's fairly shallow for quite a bit so perfect for kids or less experienced swimmers. There are also lifeguards on duty.
The is a bathroom, shower, changing area, picnic tables and benches in the park leading into the beach. Make sure to have your mask 😷 the bathroom and shower area can get a little crowded even on weekdays.
There are multiple parking lots where you can actually pull off the road. You shouldn't have to just park in a random neighborhood or on the side of the main road.

The waves here are mild, which means they're not too great for surfing professionals. 🏄♂️😅 But they're awesome for beginners who want to learn to surf or swim, and for families with little kids.

Read moreI’ve been coming here on and off for the past 41 years. It’s one of the nicest beaches on Oahu and on the planet really. The north end of the beach is a lot less crowded because most of the access is gated at the end of the neighborhood streets. Best access is through Kailua Beach park, where there is plenty of parking and restroom facilities. The water is nice year-round and great for boogie boarding and body surfing as well as swimming. Great for long walks and family time alike. The Portuguese man o’ wars do come out in certain months more than others… That you’ll have to discover on your own. Enjoy some pictures...
