🌊Kalama Beach is definitely esp because of that 2nd Lifeguard Station that was brought there, about a year ago? Lifeguards are very important, one of them said to me once, you and your dog swim pretty far out, I know we used to swim at times, couple of football fields out, from the shoreline, maybe not a good idea, as I've never yet seen sharks, but if I did, then that would probably change my ways, but i don't see that Caucasian lifeguard, since then, I have a picture of him w/ my Golden Retriever because I asked him if he could pose with Brandy, because he was a special young man, told me if I ever needed any help, ,to just, waive your hand, and I really appreciate anyone willing to save our lives, and I REALLY MEAN THAT! I would make sure that anyone who saves our lives, would be rewarded well, and I mean that, our lives are worth more than any amount of money, for sure!! Can't help the parking, anywhere here on Oahu, lived here for 70 years, since 1954 Dec and used to surf just about all my life. Not at Kalama, though, it's not a good surfing spot. With just 22 stalls, and 2 Lifeguard stalls, nobody better be ever parked in those 2 stalls, or your vehicle will be history, and well deserved! always full of people like everywhere else, vultures waiting for parking and it's been going increasingly filthy, flies with the grass that used to be there is no more because of people that abuse their privilege and despite the sometimes wonderful ocean that Brandy really loves, but her age, and my age are starting to show, hopefully God will turn back some time for us, right ✅️ Brandy Rokuta of Kahaluu and so, I need to be like my Mom, and my Dad, being "Shan Shan" means in Japanese, like a quarterback NFL's greatest, always on that ball 🏈✔️where my score should be at 5⭐️'s but because of the negatives, w/o anymore grass, it stands at 2.5, as we know better than most having swam a couple of hundred miles offshore and ran another couple of hundred miles as well. Thanks to Brandy, my cherished Golden Retriever of Kahaluu, now 12 years and 7 months old and I'm over the 6 decades marker Wow❗But whatever happened to their grass..Not one area that fine dirt w/fine sand hasn't...

Read moreMY FAVORITE BEACH I FOUND IN OAHU! I really wish we’d found it sooner because we would have been here every day. We sadly found it on our last full day here but what a fun last day it was! The sand is soooo soft, even in the water - especially after experiencing Waikiki (highly overrated and really rocky in my opinion). No water shoes needed and it was actually not as salty as Waikiki either. The waves were jamming and fun, but not overpowering. You can swim and have fun without being slammed by massive waves every 5 seconds. I swam for 2 hours straight and just had a blast. I would have probably stayed in had I not gotten hungry. Only downside is there isn’t a restaurant, store or bar nearby so no food, water, or drinks. Next time we come to Oahu we may try to stay closer...
