This (paved) trail starts out nice and flat for about a mile, before heading sharply uphill (~1500 foot elevation gain in ~2 miles). The scenery is beautiful, and the views from the upper areas are fantastic. Honestly, if you're just in it for the ocean views, there's really no need to go about the 3 mile marker. Bring more water than you think you'll need and take your time.

Smooth hike. It has a well defined path with steep hills in parts. It’s a good Sunday thing to do. When you return you can hit the beach right across the street. You can also camp at peacock flats with a permit. Might try that next time.

Beautiful hike, away from other busy trails on the island. The views are amazing and if you’re Lucky you might find some lilikoi on your trail. We also love the beaches there, as it’s never crowded and we saw many turtles as well.

We only went to the 1.5 mile marker and there was nothing really to see on the paved trail. There was a beautiful view of the northern part of the island, but that was it. Maybe the hike is better farther up, but we were with a guide and that was as far...

This is more like a walk than a hike as it's mostly paved until you get near the flats. You can go and explore up on the ridge but I'd suggest you use some sort of gps if you go off trail so you can find your way back to the camp sites. Low traffic on...
