This is one of my favorite hikes. I hadn't been back in over two years and....what happened?! I swear it was not this steep or difficult before. Maybe me not being in as great of shape as before was the only reason...but pretty sure it looked much more steep than before. Probably from all of the rain over the years. Anyway, still a great workout, short, not so sweet and to the point. The pillboxes give you some of the best views on the island.

Beautiful hike with amazing views. Try to go on a weekday to avoid crowds and be able to find parking. You can continue past the pillbox on the ridge to a peak at the end. I think the veiw from there is better. There's a way down there too and still walking distance to the trailhead.

Awesome place to hike and catch an early morning sunrise. Bring flashlights/headlamps if you're navigating the trails before the sun is up. It would definitely be slippery when raining. Many paths snake up the hill to the pillboxes. It's worth it to keep going to pillbox 2.

I didn't realize this would be a Google Maps attraction since the Pillbox Hike itself should cover both pillboxes up on this hike. But since I've been here, I guess I'll make a few remarks.

It is quite beautiful up there with a good breeze and you're only a slight bit higher than the first pillbox. Regardless, with the right camera, you can see quite a bit and can take some pretty awesome panoramic pictures atop the pillpox. I did notice that it took a bit of effort to get on top of the concrete pillbox because some of the tourons were sitting right in the way of the lowest point to climb on top. You'd think they'd be either courteous or have the sense enough to realize this spot was exactly where most people climb atop and move but I guess courtesy/sense isn't so common anymore. I guess if you encounter these folks, just climb on top of them. They'll get...

Views are amazing. Hike up isnt too bad unless your completely new to hiking or taking verticallyinclined trails, I'd suggest wearing some all terrain boots lol, it does rain on a daily basis here so it gets slippery. Parking is hard to find and you can only park on the left side of the lanes, which most are "ONE WAYS" -. You really dont have to wear a coat up you'll end up taking it off. So wear something light, even if it's cold and early it will warm up out, and so will your body from all that movement! I hope this review helped you! Take care. Be safe some ledges...

PICK UP YOUR TRASH PEOPLE! You carried it up there, carry it back down. It's not difficult, malama ka 'aina - respect the land.

I've done this hike countless times and it's one of my favorites, but when I hiked it the other moring for sunrise, I picked up 2 still warm cups of coffee and the biggest can of energy drink I've ever seen. I am both angry and sad.

Whether you live here or you are on your "vacation in paradise", you are capable of not littering. Be the better person, do the...
