Lanikai beach was one of the highlights of our trip to Oahu. This is located on the North shore of the Island and totally worth the 45 minutes- 1 hour drive from Waikiki. We arrived about 4pm. I believe this was a perfect time because people were leaving (probably to go eat after a day at the beach). The beach had fine white sands and amazing view of two small Islands called the Mokulua Islands which are protected bird sanctuaries. This beach has many reefs located about 50- 100 feet off the shore. If you are looking for a place to throw on your snorkel this was a good place. I saw a variety of fish and even saw a small octopus for a brief second before she blended in with the sand on the floor(woaaaah)! We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the clear blue waters. I would highly recommend making a trip out to this beach if you are in Hawai’i.

10/2023 Lots of locals and visitors' favorite beach. It's a pretty long stretch with various access points along the main looped road. No reef near shore makes for good swimming. Love the Japanese visitors as they are very respectful of everything. Be careful where you drive to find parking in the neighborhood and beware of parking in the wrong areas. Some residents get really angry, and some are okay with the influx of traffic. Just be cognizant if you're visiting and take your opala with you when you leave. Be mindful and caring while you enjoy this beautiful spot. p.s No restrooms or showers here. Quick in, quick out works best. 😉🤙✌️

Beautiful morning walk to help welcome the sun in. I love seeing others saying 'hi' or 'Good morning " while walking along the beach. Saw a medium sized sea turtle that lingered for quite some time gazing ahead at the shoreline until swimming back out to sea.
