It's a nice beach, especially for DoD members who live in the area. Bathroom and wash stations on site. Parking was pleantiful. There's an ITT and MWR on site offering amazing rates on surfboards ($5 an hour) and SUPs ($9 an hour). They also have nice looking cottages on the beach that you can rent but they recommend a pretty lengthy reservation (5-6 months) to get the one you want. Rates run from 105 for 1 bed upwards to 180 for O-6 and above. There are a couple downsides to this beach: 1. there are a ton of surfers...they have a dedicated swimming area that lifeguards monitor so no surfers go into, which is cool. Ut still there were quite a bit so keep a heads up if you navigate outside of the swimming area. 2. Quite a bit of rocks and seaweed once you get about 45 yards offshore...not a huge deal but just something to...
Read moreNice family friendly beach with good beginner waves for boogie boarding and surfing. Clean beautiful water. I like there are designated swim and surf areas, though really seemed like people just mix in both but doesn’t seem to be an issue. Military recreation runs a rental shack that rents boogie boards and surfboards (for military ID cardholders) - but no other beach equipment like chairs or umbrellas rented at this location so bring your own. Free parking, showers, restrooms, shaded picnic areas and lifeguard on duty. All wonderful....

It sticks to your skin, but doesn't hold water and brushes off easy, except maybe where body hair is thick. So the result is the smoothest exfoliating sand I've ever felt. My skin felt like polished leather after being there just a few hours, especially my hands. Maybe such sand contributes to the locals' beautiful skin? And there is some wonderful skin...
