This place just opened, so I really wanted to give it 5 stars especially since we live close by. However, there were some flaws too big to ignore.
The good: great atmosphere, friendly staff, close to home, plenty of parking, and just a great place to hang out in general.
The not so good: dropped it a star because the elevator to the actual restaurant (which is located on the 2nd floor) has been broken since they opened. This makes the restaurant inaccessible to elderly and disabled people, which is obviously a huge problem. When we went for the grand opening, an elderly man in a walker had to leave because he couldn't get upstairs to eat. The staff was notified at that time, and I'm surprised it wasn't fixed. We came back several days later and and brought it to their attention again, and they said "yeah, the elevator is broken, we can help lift people up the stairs," which is not only dangerous in an emergency, but obviously not ADA accessible. If they would at least offer the menu downstairs, that would be fine, but they don't. The odd part is that they don't seem to think it's a big deal. One of the people with us went upstairs and ordered food and we waited downstairs for him to bring it back down to us.
The food is good, but portions are reeeeeeally small. Waikiki prices for pupu portions. Drinks are also overpriced (read: weak). Dropped it another star because it was just difficult to eat or drink there. After having to send someone up to the restaurant to wait for food, they said we could sit at a table and a waitress would come to take our drink order. When it was time to pay the tab, the waitress told us that she couldn't take our credit card so we would have to pay at the bar (she said something about needing a pin number, but we were using a credit card, so I'm not sure what that meant...wish we would have been told they wouldn't accept card, but okay fine). Then we get to the bar to pay for our drinks, and had to wait in a pretty long line just to pay... Only to find out that we have to check out with the same waitress who came to our table, so we had to wait for her to come back to the bar to pay. It took 15 minutes to stand in line and pay the tab even though we had been served at a table.
I want this place to stay open because it's close to home, and I'll definitely revise my review if it gets better. But it was a rough start and the ADA issue needs to be resolved immediately or they need to at least offer the menu in the accessible areas. I'm surprised they haven't been reported or fined for violation of federal disability laws already, but hopefully they'll fix it before it...

Food: Solid 2.7 I had Aunte's Locomoco... beef was tender enough for chewing enjoyment but had that Fishy-Taste to it. 'Had to pour Tabasco sauce to somewhat enjoy w/ crumpled-up Macaroni Salad & 2.9 outta 5 tasty white rice w/gravy. (The gravy was 3.5 ... 3.8 since the manager there is my friend's friend😉) The burger's meat my stud friend had was medium-Raw-(in.the.middle) instead of midium-rare. Great Place for a nice beer and social gathering but not for a good meal. Just an average Joe's taste. Loved the High-Open-Space w/Panoramic South-Easterly view(???OceanView??🤷♂️🤷♀️🤷)
Great place for a casual(??pricey) dining w/ friends!
Haven't tried the sports bar/dining downstairs though.
I'd say Only Thing they got going here is the GREAT STAFFs w/ iconic water-floating-play-mats andother activities like Kayak-boat and other activities I haven't tried (because I don't have kid(s)).
GREAT Place for Kids Activities & family outing for beach(?ocean??) day activities (but gotta check with their availability hours asthey have exclusive Japanese Tour Group reservations. Super friendly staffs, though. I saw on the internet for Farmer's Market and went there but found out it's on Thursdays. 🤔🙄🙄
They got nice green open yards holding exclusive events daily, it seemed. Great use of their assets! (Although, it seemed... they're in need of more community & keiki to younger generation (from grade school level to middle school level... even some high school level events & functions for steady &extra revenue generating venues for a SUCCESSFUL BUISNESS status for a LUCRATIVE BUSINESS OPERATION. An iconic place in the OceanPoint-Hoakalei of...
Read moreAvoid this restaurant!!! The Lookout states a 10pm closing time online, but the server seemed angry about us being seated at 8:40 pm. When I noticed him barging out of the kitchen we should have left. But, our 6 year old granddaughter was hungry. A very young host seated us in an area of the restaurant that was dirty, even though another area would have been more suitable. She wiped off the table, but there were liquids all over the chairs, and on the floor. We swapped them out and sat down. Then we were approached by a very salty server, who did his very best to be as annoying as possible. He kept walking up and taking our drinks without asking, and did not check on our food. Which took almost 30 minutes to receive. He kept moving the same tables and chairs behind my granddaughter and son over and over again. Forty-five minutes of table and chairs screeching on the floor made for a pretty unpleasant dining experience. Also having a server wiping tables, then come over and grab your glass to refill is a little gross. All of which I could have gotten over, and just not come back. However, my biggest complaint is the poor quality in which our food came out. All of it had been sitting in the back, and not delivered to our table. My husband's tater tots were cold, like they had just came out of the refrigerator. My ribeye and veggies were cooled down, as were was my son's kalua pork plate. But, what I'm most upset about is that my granddaughter almost choked on her pizza because there was a ridiculous amount of cheese on it. Not only was she upset about this, but also the server sulking around. She started crying and wanted to leave. We always support local businesses, and even had our company party here last October. But, we will...
