Was hear for a friend's birthday. We sat down at 1030 when they opened. Mind we had a big party. Moments letter the server takes everyone's order and separates our checks by family. We thought the server put our order in right after she took it.

Our kids were asking when the food was coming out. I told them soon.

An hour and a half later, the server said it was coming out, and 30 minutes later, it came out. The adults' food came out first, then the kids, that ticked me off. HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE TO COOK EGGS RICE AND SPAM THAT IS $18.

Everything was WAY over price. The menu was not clear of the description of their food or what was in it. Was looking at the drinks menu for the price of a soda. It was a class bottle that is $5, and they gave a glass of ice. No free refill from that. How could you call it fried rice if it's all mushy. Saimin does not say it has chili peppers in it (good thing my kid never ordered the saimin). Fries with no salt for taste.

I'm a big tipper, but the service and the quality of the food with the price were not that great. Everything was just overpriced. From a little get-together for a friends birthday, worst experience ever. We know that they are new but always be prepared for...

Second time we have eaten here first time was first week it opened then last night. Disappointed this time around seems everything from food to service has fallen off some. Ordered pork chop and was bloody when I got it so I rarely return food but its pork has to be cooked. Told waitress it’s not cooked she told me I can assure you it’s cooked it’s been boiled then cooked so it’s cooked. I’ve worked food service I’ve been to culinary school I know raw pork. I told her it’s bloody do she took it back the manger was nice brought it back told me to cut it to make sure I did it was fine but I should of cut the bone area because it was still bloody. We ate it and just not the bloody parts so we didn’t get our money’s worth. We had side order of mashed potatoes and gravy so by the time the chop came back they were cold. Place looked little unorganized than first visit. If your the highest price restaurant in Ewa Beach you have to tighten up the little things. Overall overpriced for the quality next birthday meal I’ll have to take it back to Honolulu. But hey parking is free that’s a bonus. We frequently go to the lookout restaurant for pupus and drinks hands down...

We tried Kitchen Door for the first time last night and it's a really cool little spot on the westside. Wai Kai has The Lineup and it's fun to watch the surfers for a bit! The grounds include some yard games and water activities as well. Exited to see how this place develops.

We made a reservation for the lanai at Plaza Grill but were sat inside due a wedding party, and were not told about that in advance (our reservation/confirmation email said lanai). We didn't complain but we arrived expecting a lanai meal with water views, and we were not notified in advance. It may be best if their reservation system included a stipulation that seating preference may not be honored.

Nonetheless, we enjoyed the deviled eggs, fish special, and the ube dessert! Great flavor on the pork chop but it was a bit dry. The desserts listed on the menu were incorrect, and we ended ordering a panna cotta dessert that was super pretty, but overly tart and messy/awkward to eat. I'd avoid that one.

We also ordered a cheeseburger for my stepson and he was happy with it. They have a kids menu and a placemat/crayons for kids which is great. Very family friendly and lots of...

I really wanna give 5 stars but the reason for only 4 actually has nothing to do with the place but rather the security that controls the grounds for Wai Kai. I have not had any pleasant experiences, but rather seems like the security team likes to act like they have power. I Was told I could not walk around the pool area to view surfers, because I was carrying my leftover pizza in a Box, not even sitting anywhere. They also told us not to park in a huge parking lot, and they seem to harass people with expensive cars who park at very end and take 2 spots because it’s a exotic car and the lot is half empty. Now the kitchen door is awesome, great food, great service , friendly service and beautiful view. This is my new favorite spot, the happy hour is even better. Kitchen door please speak to your security, they just need to add discretion when speaking to people. And mostly just use common sense instead of harassing customers. I do highly recommend this place!

Really great food, well-trained staff, beautiful views (both Mauka and Makai!), in a modern, upscale (but not pretentious) atmosphere. The entire family can find something to love here. To be honest, for a restaurant led by a Michelin-awarded chef, the menu initially seems limited and somewhat basic - but look closer. The 'globally-inspired' dishes are more complex and layered than they appear. The team has also done a really good job of elevating local flavors and are continuing to evolve the menu (I highly recommend you try the new Ube Lava Cake!). Not sure if they'll be exploring a seasonal menu or maybe a prix fixe tasting/omakase menu option in the future, as they only recently opened; but I'm excited to see where Plaza Grill goes.
