If you're in Milwaukee and looking for an indoor dog swimming pool, this place is a hidden gem. After moving downtown with my Doberman/Rottweiler mix, Chop, I needed a way to help him burn off energy. City walks just weren't enough, especially with the strain they put on his joints. This was a great find!
Genuinely Caring Staff The owner and staff are truly wonderful people who genuinely care about your dog’s well-being. They’re not just there to do a job—they're passionate about what they do. It's a world of difference from other places where staff seem like they’d rather be somewhere else.
Affordable Fun with a FREE Bath At just $35 for 30 minutes, the price is fantastic, especially since Chop doesn’t need assistance in the water. He was happily exhausted after just 15-20 minutes. Plus, the session includes a DIY bath, which is such a great perk. They provide all the shampoo and brushes, so you only need to bring a towel. So you are getting enrichment for your pooch with a free bath included, for $35– FORGET spending $100 at the groomer
A Calm, Safe Environment What is most unique is that there are no other dogs around, even in passing. My dog is calm and laidback but there is always that feeling of anxiety when someone else’s dog walks by and isn’t… lunges or barks— which affects the energy in the room and is just unpleasant... Here you don’t need to worry about other peoples’ dogs. The way it’s set up is such a blessing for reactive dogs. The pool is on the smaller side than others I’ve gone to, but it was more than enough to tire out my active 80-pound dog, so it was definitely perfect for my needs. The separate washroom for bathing makes the whole process calm and private, away from any nervous/distracting energy of other dogs coming and going.
Overall, this is an awesome business run by people who truly care. I'm definitely coming back and will be recommending to everyone I know. Highly, highly recommend it if you're looking for a fun and effective way to exercise your dog in a caring and controlled...
Read moreI discovered Dog Paddle MKE and was impressed by the consistent 5 star reviews. The zip code may lead you to believe this is in bayview, but it’s not! It’s across the street from the Landmark 1850 Inn by the airport off Howell Ave. I wrote this review to be helpful to those of you on the fence and/or needing more info before taking the plunge!
REQUIRED TO SWIM: proof of rabies vaccination, a towel, and $40. Payment types accepted include: cash, debit/credit and paypal (only with prior approval from the owner).
You’ll arrive at a nondescript brown bldg w a small white and blue sign out front that says ‘dog park mke’. You’ll enter through the front door into a large lobby where you’ll complete your paperwork. This part also includes a brief meet and greet with the owner, Pete, who will be handling your dog for the first half of the swim to ensure safety; a liability waiver, and a few basic questions (allergies, toy preferences etc).
After your dog is fitted with a life vest, you’ll make your way to the pool. This requires going up a few stairs. Once you’re securely in the pool area, the owner works with your dog on leash to ensure they use the ramp to get in and out of the pool correctly. After they get the hang of it, your dog is able to swim off leash.
When your swim is done you’ll go downstairs into the dog bathing area. Shampoo and conditioner are provided but I recommend bringing your own bath products from home if you’re picky. After that you pay and head home!
Its important to note that while not in the pool, your dog(s) are required to be on leash. This is an important part of maintaining the comfort and safety of the space for everyone involved. There’s an area outside for your dog to potty, and poop bags provided. I cannot recommend highly enough 10/10...
Read moreIf it wasn't for Dog Paddle our dog would be a beast!! We have a year and a half old 100% Blue Heeler who's very high energy! He LOVES his swimming time and so do we! Dog Paddle is great all around! Our pup gets 30 minutes of swimming AND a bath in a separate room! They even supply doggy dryers and brushes! It is a self service bath which is great, especially if your pup doesn't like going to the groomer! Baths are much easier with a tired pup!! The owners really care about the dogs and know how to handle ANY kind of dog!! No need to worry of your dog doesn't do well with other dogs, they make sure the dogs won't encounter another! If you dont know if your dog will like swimming, they offer assisted swims (specific times). The assisted swim was perfect for the first time we brought our pup and they were very helpful with teaching us dog water safety. We have a standing appointment twice a week and it's the best thing we have ever done for our dog!! No more having to worry about him getting attacked or getting all muddy at the dog park! But he still gets to use up his energy in a...
