Camron-Stanford House — Attraction in Oakland

We had our wedding at the Camron-Stanford House and it was incredible. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our guests had an amazing time, and the house is truly stunning. The garden/porch overlooks Lake Merritt and is really beautiful.

From our beginning planning stages to finalizing details, everything about this venue was perfect. Marlena was extremely accommodating, friendly, and thorough, and even let us drop stuff off outside of the rehearsal when we unexpectedly needed to and answered my frequent questions and offered amazing advice. I visited the Camron-Stanford House in October 2015. There was an exhibition on death in Victorian times. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My only criticism would be that as a visitor to the area, I was more interested in the history of the house and its inhabitants. I can understand that these special exhibitions are a way of drawing in local residents, but as a tourist, I was disappointed that there was not more about the house and the family. All these years I jog, run, bike, walk, and drive by never hear this place was haunted. After museum curator did a walk through on television, I'm convinced now. Make long story short. A lady had a baby in the 1880s a baby die. Back then there wasn't much babies dying, it was a rear occasion. With no where to have a formal funeral baby was mark for burial in the victorian house.
