Went there for the first time Saturday around 2:30 3 o'clock in the afternoon. I wanted to order crab legs Dungeness crab legs only, but they only sell whole Dungeness crabs. being a boil seafood restaurant I have no problem with that. I wanted something to go unfortunately I had to Opt for the king crab legs which was good but is very difficult to get into to the meat inside because of the shells have those spikes on the outside and the shells are very soft which is hard to break into to get into the meat. Thats why I prefer Dungeness crab legs. But for almost 40 dollars just for me a little bit pricey I wish they would at least clean the top part of the shell so you won't have to clean out the waist part. They got my order wrong but that's okay I did get crab legs but I prefer Dungeness crab legs. like I said before unfortunately I am in the hunt for a place that has Dungeness crab legs only. as well as other sea foods I used to go to Arts Crab Shack on Broadway. It is now closed so now I'm looking for a place that I could get Dungeness crab legs sauteed in mushrooms in butter and garlic and lemon with a side of garlic bread. Don't get me wrong my order was very good the seasonings were outstanding on the crab boil the calamari was okay maybe just a tad overcooked but where I'm from we get it fresh at the Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey California. So to wrap this up I will be coming back to this place to try their fried shrimp and the garlic noodles. The staff was very helpful for my first time there unfortunately like I said they miss my order of fried shrimp but I will be back God willing. Oh also on the side I got the corn on the cob and they were soaked in the sauce and the sauce is very good very very messy but that's why you need a towel it...
Read moreI was craving seafood and decided to check this location out.. just a few things that ppl should know. If you dine in..they automatically at 15% tip to the check.. Service was rather slow and the server needed to be waved at to get his attention.. he never came back to our table after he dropped our food.
The seafood boil bag flavors are useless of you get medium or hot.. since it doesnt come with potatoes or corn ...the price quickly adds up since you have to add thoseitems. Maybe monday nights are for basketball but it was so loud you couldn't hear the person across from me speaking.
Parking is limited..dont park on the streets...the area will leave you with smashed windows...
The shrimp are not devained... this along with the loudness with ppl.screaming is why i deducted 1 star.
We ordered chili chz fries, and 2 boils..with shrimp and crawfish. ($84 bill)
Currently market price is 17.99 for everything.. however.. being from a coastal state..I can assure you crawfish and shrimp are not the same price...ever..
The food overall was good. It was great...because it was lacking the garlic butter and lemon pepper flavor that we ordered. I would go back but be a little more aware of my flavor choices.
The seafood was good and cooked properly... not tough or over cooked so thats a plus.
If you dont set high expectations then...

My girlfriend and I went here on a date the other night and had a wonderful time. We were looking for somewhere casual in the Oakland area that had raw oysters on offer, so we decided to try them out.
Immediately we felt at home. The atmosphere was bar-like and casual with sports on the TV and walls lined with graffiti. We each got a cocktail, some chili fries to share and a dozen raw oysters each. The cocktails were fruity and gave us a nice buzz and the chili fries were just the right level of spicy for my girlfriend and I to enjoy. (We opted for medium, and we recommend the waffle fry option!) While the raw oysters were not the best we've had in the Bay, they were really fresh, had no grit, and we were given plenty of condiments to flavor them as we wished. Our waitress was attentive and welcoming, too.
The location made it a perfect date spot as its just a short walk to Lake Merritt for some fresh air and people watching after dinner.
We will definitely be going back as we saw some of the other seafood on offer at other tables and want to explore their menu further. Highly...
