Deep Creek Lake — Attraction in Oakland

Deep Creek Lake is an absolute treasure and one of the most stunning destinations I’ve ever visited! Nestled in the mountains of Western Maryland, this beautiful lake offers something for everyone, making it the perfect getaway for families, couples, and solo travelers alike.

The natural beauty of the lake is breathtaking, with crystal-clear waters surrounded by lush, rolling hills. Whether you’re into boating, fishing, swimming, or just relaxing by the water, Deep Creek Lake has it all. The variety of water activities available ensures there’s never a dull moment.

In the fall, the foliage is spectacular, creating a picturesque backdrop for outdoor activities. In winter, the nearby Wisp Resort offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding.

Deep Creek Lake was on our family bucket list! We had a great time exploring Deep Creek Lake and the surrounding area! -We stayed a Blue Moon Rising and we are so glad we found this place! Highly recommend! -We rented a boat for a day and had a blast sight seeing from the water and getting to go tubing! We came the second week in July and the water was warm! -We also did a day trip on the beach at Deep Creek State Park. -The Farmer’s Market was a lot of fun and a great location as we got MoonShadow to go on our way out. It was our favorite restaurant by far on our entire trip! The chicken wings were a HUGE hit with the family. -We checked out the mountain coaster at wisps and the whole family enjoyed it! -After the coaster we got ice cream at lakeside creamery! It’s a must do if you are in the area! -Swallow Falls State Park was $5 a person, but very worth it! Our family had the best time exploring the trails (moderate hike), seeing the waterfalls, and taking a dip in the water! -Deep Creek Lake is also about an hour from 2 awesome State Parks- Blackwater Falls and Ohiopyle!

We visited this place as a group. The staff is great and hospitable and the ICE CREAM is to die for. If you come to deep creek you HAVE to eat ice cream at Lakeside Creamery! We came here 3 years ago and the nothing has changed since then. In fact part of my group did not remember the awesomeness of their ice cream so I had to ask them to join us again to refresh their memories. You guessed it right..they were not disappointed. This time we tried two new flavors; chocolate raspberry truffle and black raspberry, which were awesome. They have some exotic sundaes too. They serve ice cream by weight which is great for the calorie conscious. Their waffle cones are warm, fresh, crisp and tasty so ditch the cup and do justice to the flavors. Since this place is amazing you will always see long queues right after lunch and dinner time. If you want to miss the mad rush then go anytime in between and gobble these decadent...
