The hike is mostly incline from where I started. The parking situation is atrocious and I couldn't tell if what we parked in was even a type of lot or not. There are two ways to go. One follows along the side of the road and the other goes into a shaded canopy that has a gradual incline. I chose shade obviously. The trail became more challenging as the incline got steeper. The scenery was nice but I've been to nicer. There is a point though where the view of Marin County is just breaktaking. I don't know if just I went on a good day or a good time of day but the bay was very much visible and a sight to see. We came to a point where there is clearly some lumbering going on and the trail smelled like freshly cut down trees and I decided to turn back because I was unsure at this point if I was headed the right way. It's dog friendly and not as crowded as other places I've been it was a 7.4 mile hike that I completed there and back in total in or around about 2.5 hrs maybe. Deserves to be revisited eventually and maybe this time take...

I hiked, more of a walk, the trail on a Tuesday and it had moderated traffic. The are some spots with limited bay views and encounters with some quintessential Berkeley neighbourhoods. The real gem is the Woodbridge Metcalf Grove. A grove of redwood trees with steep natural trails. If you are looking for a three (3), about, in and out hike something quick and easy, then this trail will work for you. I suspect it can get busy on the weekends so if solitude is more to your liking then this trail is...
Read moreWell, it's an easily accessible trail, i went to this trail by walking from UC Berkeley. A mistake though, like I already used all my energy to walk from the UC Berkeley to the start of this trail lol. It was a nice hike, but compare to other hiking trails I've ever tried, it doesn't really have beautiful view compare to others.
I visited here on autumn, i remember several days before that was raining, so some parts of hiking trails were slippery. I slipped several times since I didn't use proper shoes (I used sneakers, but not a specific type of...
