My family decided to attend the 2022 tractor pulls this year. Gate fee was 20.00 per person, which was not bad considering kids were free of charge. We came hungry and our first stop was to get a few cheeseburgers, hotdogs and fries. My daughter took one bite of the hot dog and would not eat the rest, the cheeseburgers were cold, that was a waste of 30.00+ dollars. We did tolerate the fries! We did buy some kettle popcorn that held up over while we sat there. That was pretty good! We absolutely loved the show! The facility is too outdated for this type of event. You are sitting under the pavilion inhaling black smoke, and the fumes were so bad! My daughter had to cover her eyes due to the fumes burning her eyes and throat. The vent fans sucked! The facility is out dated! The vibration from the engines resulted in rust falling from the over head beams! I first thought it was dirt coming from the show but realized quickly when pulling my daughters hair up that it was rust that came from the overhead beams. This type of facility should be used for rodeo type events and livestock only! It should not be used for alcohol blown tractors, monster trucks, or any other type of high powered motor, this place cannot/ should not host a 2000 horse power blown engine event. We will gladly return for the rodeo events but unfortunately will not attend this type of...
Read moreNice little Rodeo. Small venue, really almost dangerous for Barrel Riders, but plenty large for the rest of events. Enthusiastic crowd of Rodeo lovers. Nice that they pray & sing National Anthem too. Music TOO LOUD, part of the time we had no idea of competitors' names, because of the uproar from music. Simply couldn't hear what the announcer was saying. They did flash names on screen, but only for a moment. Should appear & STAY until the score is shown. The screen is small, centrally located over chutes. Should move it to either side of the roof support & make it bigger. Much bigger. Chutes are not numbered; instead they are labeled by sponsor or advertiser. Took us a while to figure that out, but it works. Clean restrooms (at the beginning of evening), but apparently no ongoing maintenance, so by Intermission, they needed touching up. By the end of the evening, really messy. Still no Gluten Free food or beer available. Can't bring in food or drinks. So you get to go hungry & drink soft drinks / water. That cut one full star off my review. There is simply no reason for ANY Public event not to have GF food. Some entertainment besides Rodeo events. The trick rider...

The pavilion is located on Old Jacksonville Road, east of Highway 441 and north of Highway 27.
I was lucky enough to volunteer for the rabbit judging. I was tasked with reading the record books and making remarks. It was so sweet to read these books. The care the children give to their rabbits.
I attended several highschool graduations at the Livestock Pavilion, which I was less lucky. Each graduation was wetter than the previous. One was in torrential rain, we could not hear the presentation! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND if you are going to be sitting for an event to bring a pad & a back support. Sitting on the cold, wet metal stadium seating is rough!
