I invited a group of friends to Long Live Paintball this weekend to celebrate my husband's big 30. We opted for private play with Brendan as our referee. He was pleasant to work with all day & showed both new & experienced players a great time!
Safety is a big deal at Long Live Paintball and they remind players at all times to mask up on the field & cover up their barrels off the field to limit injury.
Only safety concern I had was the birthday gauntlet. We felt as a group we were standing too close to my husband at ~10-15 feet away, but our referee insisted it fine. Furthermore, despite having private play, we had an individual not in our group join in & shoot my husband from a close distance in the neck (in the carotid area), which caused him to collapse in pain & briefly black out on the field. He now has a large area of swelling on his neck, bloodshot eyes, and headaches.
Although we sign waivers and are fully aware that injury can occur, I believe that this incident (which singlehandedly ruined my husband's birthday) could have been avoided if we were placed at an appropriate distance and if this other individual was properly instructed to leave the field (since as a group, we had all agreed not to hit any critical/soft areas).
Long Live Paintball does a great job for the most part with prevention; however, they lack in how to handle situations when injury does occur. My recommendation to Long Live Paintball is to train employees on how to properly recognize common injuries on the field and how to approach them. While Brendan was great with our group all day, he appeared very uncomfortable addressing injury and offered little assistance after my husband was shot (e.g., offer an ice pack, inquired whether an ambulance needed to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went here for a birthday party. The staff seemed friendly and were not very rude to any of the group. It's expensive, unorganized and just overall a poor experience. The guns didn't shoot well at all. I was put in a 'beginner' group. Put against people who were clearly experienced with their own guns and all and knew what they were doing. The people are just rude. I've got shot multiple times after I surrendered and the refs just watched as they shot me down, didn't say a word. There are grown men preying up against little kids, so called beginners. One man was within arms distance of one of my group members and still shot her, was no mistake. Told the ref and he didn't do anything while the man was laughing about it. Never even said surrender. Similar thing happened to an 11 year old boy on my team, a man was about 5 feet away, didn't say surrender and shot him right in the center of his neck.
I do not recommend this place at all if you're a beginner and have small children. Your child will be shot in the neck and other areas that are clearly painful. Private party will probably be your best bet if you absolutely need to come to this place but I wouldn't even bother. Foul play is clearly okay. Absolutely ridiculous with small children running around.
Games take forever to start. Your leader? Forget about it. They were nowhere to be found. I'll be sure to avoid this place at all possible costs. I'm sure there is much better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really loved this place alot. I saw bad reviews of this place and was skeptical about it but I knew of a guy who go there often and I asked him about it. Be said he didn't have any problems there so I decided to check it out. When me and my brother arrived there we were kinda of overwhelmed by the the fields (in a good way) and we saw that we were going to have a good day. When we walked in the pro shop there was a group there and everyone was joking around and having a great time (before even playing a game). The guy there made a mistake with my paint and fixed it right away and apologized even gave me some free entry cards so we can come back. We met new people there and had a great time. A kid we met there got his personal mask stolen and the who staff went in search mode to find it. It then got to the manager and the mask was found and I'm glad that he was able to get it back. I was happy at how the workers there took the time to look for the mask and made sure that he got it back. Overall I give it a perfect score and I enjoy the staff. I didn't see any rude people there at all and I would recommend anyone to go there and there paint is a bit cheaper than skirmish which is an awesome field too but, if you don't have skirmish money then this is a great alternative paintball...
