We were originally attracted to here by old photos of the bone fields. Unfortunately these are mostly gone now as they were harvested by someone. This is unfortunate as it was a unique attraction. That said, this isn't just a park, it's a nature reserve. As such, pets are not allowed. This is noted on signs over and over and over. Every entrance as well as secondary signs. There is no restroom, water, or other facilities. Come prepared for a short hike or with the proper supplies of you want to stay longer. This is a great easy hike to walk with young kids, but don't expect to use a stroller or wheelchair. I've seen more animals here, specifically snakes, tree frogs, and chipmunks than I've seen in any other park within a city limits in western washington. There's a great amount of birds to listen to, and new flora coming up in the spring. There is an old milk storage tank which is a unique attraction. Enjoy some excellent reverberations of sound, or dare to go inside to enjoy a surprise. We saw many other families out to enjoy it, including several folks flaunting the no pets signs. That was unfortunate as one was off leash and terrified a couple (dog-phobic) young kids. If you want to spend a couple hours with Marie living kids, this makes a great little walk with some interesting human...
Read moreNo grass, no lake, no sense of nature, excepting what lovely views are possible from the government-approved asphalt trail for humans. Oh and there’s no park either, you can’t use the grass.
All in all, if you like spanking new pavement you are going to loooove this place. And wait til you see the million dollar bridge over nothing to and from nowhere. Stunning!
There are signs reminding you that walking may lead to stepping on things that aren’t perfectly flat, which might in turn lead to injury. Saved me from myself I’m sure. There are a few unpaved trails here and there. Watch out!!! Haha
Hopefully there aren’t any rules against roller skates because I’m bringing mine next time. Yes I will feel out of place among the fit-bit crowd but I don’t care, this place is so dang vanilla it brings out the...
Read moreMy family and I love this nature reserve, it is absolutely beautiful. There is a trail from the Kaiser RD entrance that begins pretty wide and leads to a Y where you can take a left and go on a longer nature walk with a thinner trail, or you can take a right and the trail ends soon at a neighnorhood. It is so amazing to be able to walk through these woods and lose site of our busy society and just pause in nature. I stop to hear the birds and take in the smell and feeling of nature, it is...
