Ontario International Airport (ONT) is a fantastic choice for travelers looking for a smooth, stress-free experience. From check-in to reaching your gate, the process is impressively efficient, making it one of the easiest airports to navigate. I arrived at 8:30 AM for a morning flight and was pleasantly surprised by how quickly everything moved. Check-in was a breeze, with no lines or delays, and security was equally quick and seamless. Within just 15 minutes, by 8:45 AM, I was already at my gate. The entire process was so fast and straightforward that it almost felt too good to be true. What stood out most was the quiet, calm atmosphere. By the time I reached my gate, there was barely anyone there, making the experience even more relaxing. Unlike the chaotic environment at larger airports like LAX, ONT feels well-organized and uncrowded, which helps take the stress out of travel. The airport’s smaller size means you don’t have to deal with long walks or confusing layouts, which is a big advantage when you’re short on time or just want a hassle-free journey. While ONT doesn’t offer the extensive amenities of larger hubs, it provides everything you need for a comfortable trip. The seating at the gates is plentiful, the restrooms are clean, and there are food and beverage options to keep you satisfied before your flight. Its focus on efficiency and simplicity makes it a great alternative to more congested airports in Southern California. For travelers in the Los Angeles or Inland Empire areas, ONT offers a practical and convenient option. It’s especially appealing if you value a quick, streamlined experience over the bells and whistles of larger airports. Parking is also straightforward and reasonably priced, adding to its overall accessibility. In summary, Ontario International Airport is an excellent choice for anyone prioritizing ease and efficiency in their travels. From the rapid check-in process to the calm, uncrowded environment, ONT offers a refreshing break from the usual airport hustle and bustle. It’s a place where you can relax and focus on your journey without the usual frustrations of air travel. I look forward to flying through ONT again in the future.

Straight in the door, I am being met by a women. She states that she works for Southwest and that I need to combine my bags into two. I am very familiar with the rule. Travel Frequently. Had in this occasion, to speed up security waiting lines, put my computer, liquids and food into a plastic for security screen efficiency, for my self, co- passengers and the TSA. Here I am at the end of a short escalator to security being stopped to combine my bags to two before going up the escalator where I will have to unpack it all again for the TSA. I try to reason with the lady to hopefully have her realize the pure ridiculousness of her request, or rather command. To no use. Than she states she works for the FAA, so I am at this point confused about who to complaint to. She will not see reason. There I am putting the TSA sensitive materials into my bag to go up the shortest escalator in the world!(see picture) only to unpack it all again. Is was told; rules are rules. Not all rules make sense. (My mind says; But do they have to be out right utterly and completely useless!?!) It is wonderful to meet progressive spirits at Ontario Airport, ready to make the world just and free for their fellow American residents, and of course provide incredibly great service. Moral of the story; fair enough we can’t all make the Smithsonian’s most significant Americans, but do we have to go in the diametrical opposing path. Ontario Airport is best avoided, if you prefer a friendly atmosphere, save time and experience efficiency, that is. I highly recommend Bob Hope, Santa Ana or Long Beach and going the extra miles by car. I was told her name was Darlene, judging by her confusion about her employer, I doubt thats really the truth either. I plea Ontario, please fix the ridiculousness.

As far as conveniently getting on a flight, ONT is Excellent. I have previously reviewed it with 5 stars. But whoa! What “genius” replaced The Coffee Bean, and the classy bar with pre-packaged food kiosk and a coffee vending machine? I used to hold off on breakfast or lunch just to get some indulgence at the airport before a flight. I’ll never do that again! 1. First thing you’ll be greeted by if you take the east wing (Gates 207-213) is a duty free store with brightly lit Marlboro and liquor signs. (Seriously, who comes to ONT for this stuff and why should my kids and I have to sit across from it while waiting on my Delta flight?! It’s like I drove my kids to N. Vegas before it was revamped.) 2. No wait, actually first thing you’ll see is a wall ad saying that X brewery is coming soon. The largest “person” in this ad is an eerie AI dude staring off at nothing. It’s creepy! 3. The coffee machine is full on false advertising. I’ll post the picture of what it promised, versus what it delivered. Worse, it has multiple drinks with similar names but it doesn’t describe what the differences are. It doesn’t offer any non-dairy creamer/milk options either. And no, it doesn’t taste like freshly brewed coffee. 4. There are now only 2 restaurants. They don’t serve bfast after 10:30 a.m. Boo! Price for sandwiches and personal Pizzas range from &12.99 - $20. My sons shared a personal pizza (they liked the taste) and each had a drink. It was $30. We aren’t talking fine dining with a great atmosphere folks. This is ridiculous. I have been so excited reading about the celebrated changes at ONT. But for all the hype, the people running it have turned it into an upgraded Greyhound bus station.

One of the most inconsistent and poorly organized airports in America, saved from total incompetence due to its smaller passenger load. TSA agents appeared unfamiliar with opt-out procedures and took significant time to assign an individual agent. During the process, an additional step in the pat-down was ordered by the agent’s accompanied supervisor, something I haven’t seen in any other American airport. Let’s remind ourselves one reason the fed gov exists: to enforce a level of consistent conduct locally, especially when local entities impose excessive differentiation. If the fed gov cannot enforce consistency in its own ranks, in the same agency, it loses credibility. Without credibility, it will have a harder time performing *any* federal oversight function, even when its presence is necessary. Local entities will disdain its interference and the US will fragment first in procedures and oversight, then in ideology. It’s incredible—and sad—that McDonald’s is generally able to enforce consistent standards not just nationwide but internationally, but the TSA cannot handle common sense standards consistently even within one country. This is such an easy airport to get in and out of. Not crowded like most. Been going here for several years picked up my granddaughter from here and well the video says it all

Ontario is great! Far better than LAX. Less traffic, fast lines, and the terminal setup is better to get in and out quickly. I only wish they had more flights! This year they're flying into BJX Mexico on Volaris, so no need to drive all the way to CBX bridge in San Diego anymore.
