My husband and I recently had our wedding here. We were so excited because of how beautiful it is. However, as it came closer and closer to our wedding, we were let down tremendously. Every time we made a payment, all of our receipts were lost. Ten days before the wedding, we were doing a final walkthrough to talk about where we would want all of the tables and chairs. We were told that there would be nurses staying in the top loft. We tried to protest and the staff waited until 4 days before our wedding that there was nothing that they could do, the nurses were staying, but not to worry because they would just stay in the loft and not bother us. They in fact did not stay upstairs. The nurses came down, seemed very surprised that we were there, and looked around while guests were entering the building. The nurses also took up valuable parking spots that we were promised would be for our guests and they refused to move. We were also told that the parking lot would be roped off for our event and it wasn’t. A week before our wedding we got a call saying that we didn’t make a single payment and owed them the entire amount. We were also told a week before that we HAD to use their specific security guard, even though in our contract it said that we could use anyone we wanted as long as they worked for Saint Landry Parish. (They did end up comping this due to all of the mistakes on their part) The tables and chairs were supposed to be set up on Thursday so that we could come the Friday to start decorating for the rehearsal dinner and wedding. When we got to the Delta at 9 am on Friday, nothing was set up and we were told that no one would be able to come until 1pm because “they had another event.” While this may be true, it does not help the fact that so many other things promised to us were not upheld. After protesting, three men finally showed to set up the tables and chairs and shorted us 80 chairs. When we brought this to their attention, we were told that the remaining chairs were off site and would have to be retrieved. They made it known that this would be a burden to get them for us. Upon insisting, they did get the remaining chairs that arrived dirty and molded. Almost all of the tables provided were also dirty. We couldn’t use the bar at the top because none of the coolers were running properly, we had one residential refrigerator in the kitchen, and no stove or way to heat up food. We couldn’t have more than three appliances running or it would trip the breaker (which was hard to find.) We were told that our names and wedding date would be put on the marquis, but when we got there on Friday, we were informed that it had been broken for a while and non operational. Lastly, the floors and bathrooms were filthy! We were told that upon our arrival the floor would be swept and mopped. When we brought this to their attention, they brought someone to clean the bathrooms only. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this beautiful building to anyone due to all of the inconveniences that...
