Wabasso Beach Park — Attraction in Orchid Island

Access to the beach was easy before sunrise. The parking lot wasn't at capacity so finding a space was relatively easy. The facilities we're clean and looked to be kept up. The beach itself was clean of debris and had different types of marine birds in the area.

The reason I gave it 2 stars is because this beach has sand fleas, and it's bad. I wasn't sitting near any of the birds (they scurried around always staying at a distance) or any known decaying bodies (it's wildlife, things die in off places sometimes). One of my most favorite beaches in Florida. Its a tiny little honey comb hide out. Small parking lot.. usually not crowded when I have visited. Locals mostly. Convenient bathrooms and rinse off area. Tides are posted. I travel from Alaska to visit because I moved away in the 90s so I visit here during Florida's winter months. Please keep this in mind when reading this review. Wabasso Beach Park is just a short walk from where we are staying in Wabbaso beach. Though I walked here, It’s got plenty of parking, and also a grocery store where you can buy beach gear and food and beer. The beach is nice here and the waves actually break a little bit bigger here than they do north where we are staying! It’s a super nice beach and the water is warm and inviting! Definitely recommend this spot to anyone...
