I am lucky enough to have retired to this amazing location. I fish, drop my crab pots, and go clamming right here!
Waldport is a tiny town on the other side of this bridge. To the uninitiated, this town is a quaint passthrough from Yachats to Seal Rock and then on to Newport... but, don't be fooled! This bridge and the jaw dropping wilderness which surrounds it are chocked full of wonderful people! And amazing local businesses.
There shops here struggle to please everyone and the community swells with pride and practices a policy of being largely self-sufficient. If you are a Waldport start-up, you would be hard pressed to find a more supportive community!
This bridge isn't only a form of fantastic transport from one side of the Alsea Bay to the other. The bridge is a rock solid testament to the community which surrounds it. On your way through the central Oregon coast, stop for a while... spend some time. Enjoy the local hospitality and fall in love with this special place.

Read moreThe Alsea Bay Bridge is a magnificent bridge connecting Highway 101 across the Asea River. The historic bridge was designed by Conde McCullough, one of Oregon's premier Bridge and Highway Engineers, back in the early 1900's. His distinctive design using arches can be seen on other Oregon Bridges. The Alsea Bay Bridge first opened in 1936 and it is approximately 3,000 long.
The Alsea Bay Bridge is beautifully lit at night.
