Anthology at The Four Graces in Oregon’s Dundee Hills is nothing short of a gastronomic revelation, an unforgettable seasonal celebration of fine dining and exceptional wines. Each course of this sublime meal was a masterclass in craftsmanship, utilizing simple, fresh ingredients that were transformed into vibrant, multilayered masterpieces. The intricacy and depth of the flavors evoked memories of dining at culinary icons like The French Laundry and The Inn at Little Washington—though not as a comparison, but as a benchmark for new heights of culinary brilliance.
The meal prepared by Chef Chase Williams and Chef Zack Ehrlich was an unparalleled triumph, a dazzling showcase of culinary artistry. There is no doubt They Can Do This All Day. Words alone do not suffice to capture the excellence of each dish, but let it be said: this was the finest meal I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Every bite, an orchestration of flavors. Each dish, crafted with intention and executed with precision.
As remarkable as the food was, the wine pairings curated by Peter Marcy took the evening to an entirely new echelon. These were not wines chosen on a whim; they were the result of meticulous selection; each glass designed to complement and elevate the complexities of the meal. Each selection had Glorious Purpose. Every sip calculated, vetted, and exquisitely chosen to not only heighten each bite, but to leave you, simply, satisfied.
The evening was made all the more memorable by the impeccable service. The people are what is making Anthology the stuff of legend. Caroline Huggins greeted us with a level of care, kindness, and sincerity I have only experienced with family. Her warmth and attention to detail were extraordinary, turning a magnificent meal into an unforgettable occasion. Upon returning months later for a Sip and Savor tasting, we were greeted by her with the same kindness and genuine care that left us feeling like valued friends, not just patrons. The fact she remembered us and picked up the conversation as though she had seen us yesterday. The level of personalized service was unparalleled, from flawless place settings to the warmth in every interaction. Her attention to detail is not only visible with every interaction, but is prevalent throughout the evening. I have worked in customer service for 30 years, and never have I felt so welcomed and appreciated. The meal and wine prompted this review, the service has prompted my return.
But what truly elevates Anthology from an exceptional meal to a lasting memory are the stories behind each dish and glass of wine. The evening was interwoven with heartfelt narratives from the Anthology team, from the source of the ingredients to the origin of the wines. Each wine came with a tale, each dish with a purpose, enriching the experience beyond taste alone. Chef Chase, Chef Zack, Peter, and Caroline provided us with what can only be described as a 'core memory,' a moment of profound connection through food and wine. Maximum Effort by all. Though the cost of such an evening may give one pause, I assure you it is worth every penny. I am not a wealthy man, but after just one evening at The Four Graces, I find myself eagerly awaiting my next visit. This place is destined for fame, but for now, it remains a hidden gem. Get there before the rest of the world discovers it—because it...

Best view in the valley. I didn't know what to expect at the top of the hill (the road to up to the 'compound' is paved, but narrow, so drive slowly), but there is quite a bit up there... Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard, Grange Estate & Winery, Four Graces, and Anthology.
Upon arrival we were asked that one of us fill out some information electronically. I made the reservation, so I volunteered. All the information that was entered, seemed like it would have been collected when making the reservation on Tock. We were welcomed by a California bubble from their Foley parent without much explanation of Foley. The tasting, the wine was delicious. Joshua's knowledge of the wine was welcomed, and the coasters are brilliant.
The part that was embarrassing for us was... when we booked the reservation for 4, we paid up front, with no ability to tip. We decided that we wanted to purchase some wine, specifically so that we could tip on our experience. The wine was rung up and the bill presented for eSignature, come to find out that there was no way to tip. In this cashless world, we seem to live in, we were not able to tip Joshua. Moral of the...
Read moreThis was a perfect first stop. My sister and I had an extra day after a wedding in Portland Oregon, and we decided to treat ourselves to a trip through Willamette wine country. Our first stop was Four Graces, on a whim. We were delighted. The setting was right off the highway, but adorable. The scattered, comfortable seating options behind the main house felt miles away from any roads. The service was excellent, with two sommeliers checking in on us, both of whom were charming and informative, and neither was at all pushy. They explained to us two of the different soils that the famous pinot noir grapes were grown in and we were able to taste the difference in the wines - given our lack of wine experience, we were thrilled with our new expertise. we relaxed, enjoyed truly delicious pinots (gris, grigio, noir) and at the end got a recommendation for some fancier wineries "up the hill". We followed their advice and had more good experiences, but looking back, this one was our favorite! Special...
