Southport park is a fantastic place to spend the day alone or with family and friends. It opens at Sunrise and closes at 10:00 pm. The park has plenty to offer and keep you busy. There are plenty of tree lined walking trails through this beautiful well kept park. Some of the trails offer different exercise fitness stations along the way to stop at and take part in solo or as a group. The park offers meany open pavilions with seating and some have BBQ Grills where you can have Birthday party's or a field day gathering. trash cans are stations at each. Please take trask with you after all events.
There is a wellness center with men's and women's restrooms along with a drinking fountain outside. There is a large fenced in playground area for the smaller children to enjoy with swings and things for them to climb on and plenty of room to run around. The park also has a baseball field and a soccer field that I'm sure will need a reservation to use. You will fiend benches through the park to sit and enjoy the view from one side to the other. There is a small lake that catches the sun most afternoon's located not far from the entrance along the right side. Long open green grass fields is what you'll see as you enter from any point you look. There is road side parking only so should you want to attend an event there i do suggest getting there early as possible. If you prefer walking in the evening all the paths are very well light and open viability goes a long way with some residential homes in the area should an emergency arise. I would highly recommend this...

A young mother walked the sidewalks while her daughter pedaled her bike alongside her in an endearing wobbly sort of way. Parents and small children entertained the baseball fields with little league games. Squirrels raced to and fro around the trees and shelters. The park was full of life. The only downside was the restrooms. The women's restroom door would no longer latch and the inside was in quite a disarray. In short, it was a complete mess and needed immediate janitorial attention. Other than that, it was a...
