I appreciate what they are doing for our active and retired members of the U.S.A armed forces. Being 15 and having a retired marine for my father, I have huge respect for the members of the armed forces. What I don’t appreciate is almost being scammed of money by their “discounted military tickets” for other sites and attractions such as Universal Studios and Disney world. The scammed part is kinda amusing to me. First off, they did not accept the DD214 that my dad was in possession of. For anyone who doesn’t know what that is, it is a discharge paper saying that you are a retired military veteran. That apparently doesn’t mean that you were in the armed forces (according to the guy behind the desk) and therefore they did not take it. Second of all are the prices of the tickets. Our family was there looking at tickets to universal studios. As usual, the idea of discount tickets is always appealing to the eye and head. But as usual, we have to ask ourselves if this really was a discount or are they just stealing our money. In this case, it was stealing our money. They were giving tickets out for Universal Studios. They were 1 day passes for all the islands/available places to visit there. The price was $178 per person. I had a really nasty suspicion about that price so I went on the Universal studios website to look at the price. Please keep in mind that they claimed that the price of the ticket from their website or at the window price was $186. I go on the website and look at the same pass, and it is $170. This is most definitely a scam, so I would reccomens checking your prices before ever buying the tickets here.
This would have been a 1 Star review if I didn’t forget about the fact that they made this for active and retired armed forces members. So the 1 other Star is for the overall thought and kindness behind this facility. Minus their...
Read moreFirst order of business. My wife and I want to recognize Mr Channer, the Division Manager of "Hardlines & Electronics"! Mr Channer is an gentleman and example to follow by many because he assisted my with a unique situation and above all, acted in good faith. Our faith has been restored about there still being good and kind people in the system, and in our communities. I purchased a 86' TV in advance of selling my home and moving to a new home. The TV was a "House Warming Gift" to ourselves. The buyers of my home backed out and I had no choice but to stay in our current home. We decided to mount it and in the process I must have cracked the screen (not sure) while pulling it out of the box with my son. I called the PX, LG, and the extended warranty to see if anyone could help me. To my surprise "Cracked Screens" are not covered under any warranty, unless you pay a company to transport and mount it. And all purchases in the NEX have a 45 day return policy; I was on my 53 day because I called at my 44-day but then tried to handle it with the extended warranty. After some research and having the opportunity to speak with Mr Channer, he illustrated how the screen could have cracked while unboxing the TV; it made complete sense to me and I felt terrible. Mr Chamber approached me and informed me that he would refund me the money, and explained to me that this is not usually the procedure so his store would have to absorb the lost. I was in disbelief because his explanation on how the TV got cracked made sense to me (not sure but still). I left very joyful and grateful that Mr Channer was genuinely caring and helpful. We thank him and his staff for their support. And a great big hug from my wife and I...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars I would. I ordered a USMC Dress Blue jacket from the NEX website to be worn at my wedding. I paid for expedited shipping of 1 to 2 business days to receive the item swiftly. After the order was placed a message stated an email would be sent with the tracking information. After about 4 days of not receiving the item or the tracking information I contacted the NEX customer service. They replied promptly with “we cannot find your tracking information” and submitted the order status request to another department. Another 2 days went by with nothing heard. I sent another order status request. It took 2 days for a reply. The reply informed me that the item I ordered was out of stock and on back order. It would be 3 to 4 weeks before I would receive the item. Well my wedding is in 2 weeks. So due to the NEX making items available to purchase online when they are not, there slow process to identify that they are selling things they do not have, and their slow communication I am jumping through hoops to get a new Dress blue jacket before my wedding. Luckily “Uniforms 4 U” has their act together. I was able to order one through their site. Unfortunately due to the loss of 10 days I had to pay $70 for expedited shipping. Thanks NEX. I would think twice before placing orders...
