Historically restored former U.S. Coast Guard 36 foot motor lifeboat CG36500, best known for its role in the miraculous rescue of 32 crew members of the tanker Pendleton off Chatham in Feb. 1952. The tour provided was interesting because the guides are very knowledgeable about the its history as well as many other aspects of the boat. The history of this vessel is also recounted in the book and film "The Finest Hours".
