I never make reviews and this review has little to do with the beautiful gardens but rather the poor experience here with a staff person who I was later told is the Director. We were at the gardens to take photos for prom. The staff member was extremely snippy with us for no reason.
I understand it must be stressful working these events, but that is no excuse to be rude to patrons. We asked a simple question about the price and she snapped at us for not checking Facebook first. We had no issue paying for entry- we just wanted to know what we owed. She rolled her eyes when we asked questions about the gardens and overall just seemed like an unhappy person. It takes a lot of work to remove all the previous blooms from that many plants. We also enjoyed the little greenhouse with orchids and other exotic plants.
The lady working in the house that admitted us was awfully talkative. We were told by a garden worker there was a wedding in the park and that the gazebo was closed, but nothing else. When we entered though, we got about 10 good minutes of walking around in before we were essentially blocked off by wedding-goers. Instead of a small section being used, we were blocked out of about 3/4 of the park and could only see a few dying blooms and nothing else. A sad waste of $10. I won't be returning soon.
Owners: "Please stay away from the wedding party." Also Owners: "Why didn't you walk somewhere else?"
They were...
