I never make reviews and this review has little to do with the beautiful gardens but rather the poor experience here with a staff person who I was later told is the Director. We were at the gardens to take photos for prom. The staff member was extremely snippy with us for no reason.

I understand it must be stressful working these events, but that is no excuse to be rude to patrons. We asked a simple question about the price and she snapped at us for not checking Facebook first. We had no issue paying for entry- we just wanted to know what we owed. She rolled her eyes when we asked questions about the gardens and overall just seemed like an unhappy person. Put a sore spot on a...

There is much to see and enjoy in these gardens. We were impressed by the daylily garden that had myriads of flowers, with not one dead one visible. It takes a lot of work to remove all the previous blooms from that many plants. We also enjoyed the little greenhouse with orchids and other exotic plants.

The lady working in the house that admitted us was awfully talkative. We wish she had started us out at the beginning of the path, rather than walking us through the building and just pointing straight ahead. We couldn't make sense of the map until we eventually reached the spot where the entrance used to be and they had signs to point...

I normally love this garden and have gone many times before, but this time was different. We were told by a garden worker there was a wedding in the park and that the gazebo was closed, but nothing else. When we entered though, we got about 10 good minutes of walking around in before we were essentially blocked off by wedding-goers. Instead of a small section being used, we were blocked out of about 3/4 of the park and could only see a few dying blooms and nothing else. A sad waste of $10. I won't be returning soon.

Owners: "Please stay away from the wedding party." Also Owners: "Why didn't you walk somewhere else?"

They were...

Went today for the first time after having it saved for years on maps. It was well kept grounds, perfect weather today to tour the grounds. We enjoyed the beautiful flowers, trees, and landscaping. The fountains were also beautiful and peaceful. The place provided lots of seating and benches to relax along the way or enjoy the scenery. We paid $8 per adult to get in. Anyone who lives in the area should at least visit once.

The gardens are pretty in the spring and summer but the Sunday we went there was no one there but us, not even people who work there. The gate was open and there was just a donation box. Since all the buildings were closed up the only bathroom was a porta-potty. I don't know if anyone who works there is around during the week days or Saturdays but it's worth a visit and planning ahead will make it more enjoyable.
