Visiting friends in Owensboro KY, a fun days activity was planned to tour Green River Distilling Company. Being a relocated Kentuckian (50 years) I have toured at least 15 other distilleries. The tours have all been very similar with the narrative changing very little one from the other. Our tour Guide, Nate, was excellent with a lot of personality and funny one liners. This is a very large, very well run, and very well marketed enterprise. That said, it's not a micro distillery experience in the least. There's no free tastings or tours. They capitalize on everything. Is their product good? Yes, it's excellent. And if you're into bourbon, you should come. I just didn't give it 5 stars because I prefer a smaller, more intimate experience where they focus on sharing their excitement about their product over charging you for everything. Amazing! I am in town for work. I found out a distillery was here. Green River distillery. So, one Saturday I took a tour. I enjoy distillery tours. You learn all these little nuggets of information that you may not have ever thought of. You do hear some of the same old stuff, but that's ok. I love learning about how whiskey is made. Then at the end you get to participate in a tasting. Ahh, life is good. I absolutely recommend...
