We moved from the south shore area a few months ago. Market Basket has been my go to store for years. I traveled 15-20 minutes to the closest before we moved to central MA. Tge store itself in Oxford is clean and organized, with most if what U would usually buy. They do have a goid selection if "deli meat ends", which I get for sandwiches. My biggest complaint is: WHERE ARE TGE CHEESE ENDS? I have bought them at the at least 6 different Market Basket Stores that I have ever shopped in. I usually make a great mac 'n cheese with a great variety. I also use them to wrap my dog's medicine in. I have been to this M.B. af least 10 times, and never any cheese ends. What are done with them? Those of us on fixed incomes could do a lot with them. Other than that, synonyms other complaint is that food in general, is somewhat higher priced, than say in Waltham, where I was a wk ago after a Dr appt. I understand that prices vary and are not always equal, but several were quite significant. This is the closest MB to me, and I am in Sturbridge. I will need to figure out if the gas I use to get there, is actually worth the bit of cash I...
Read moreNot bad, but needs some work. We found most of what we wanted. I could have looked harder, but I did find a substitute I liked, so I wasn’t terribly disappointed. Store was need and being busily restocked after Independence Day shopping sprees, so it’s totally understandable that I couldn’t find an item or two. The store was very clean, except one area, a frozen fish case beside the regular aisles, which stunk. It shouldn’t do that if things are properly frozen and kept clean. The staff at checkout were polite. However their bagging skills could use work. We came home with fruit bashed up from clerks putting heavy stuff in with it. This store is my son’s preference to other area markets. He’s naturally brought me to shop there when we stock up during my visits. Every time, things are neat, clean and fresh, so the frozen fish case is not a norm. I don’t recall crushed fruit being a problem in past shopping excursions either, so I think this maybe isn’t the norm either. Provided I see improvement when I next visit, I’ll give a...
Read moreShop here frequently as recent as yesterday and unbelievable but true it was not Jam packed of customers shopping! Was a rare and appreciated brief grocery shop with no distress! Otherwise on the other times I've shopped here I honestly have no real complaints that I can think of,it took a while to adjust to the many isles of choices and selections. Did not know how many selections of the same items exist til shopping here my 1st few times,my legs were legit-ally tired! (not saying this cheerfully, and is for me a down side factor of the length to get basic familiar brands and foods) On another note however the prices are ideal,(though thinking now how I went to Dollar tree or store Dollar something store near by,and the Apple Juice, and Chicken soups etc.were of course all $1.00.,VS.the apple juice being $1.79 and 2 for $3.00 for Cambells chicken noodle at Market Basket,.that kind of sucked and again as I'm re-thinking about it by saying so lol. But-such is...
