Our greeting at the entrance booth was enthusiastic and polite. The park is well organized and sign posted.
We had come from a week long trip of primitive camping and were hoping for a cool dip on the lake and a warm shower, both of which we achieved but the experience over all wasn't as pleasant as we imagined.
We had just come from Lone Rock the day before, a spot with much less amenities, but allot more charm and pleasant staff.
The general store staff was mostly unresponsive and the wait for a cahier with a line of just me was over 5 min.
The showers were warm and plentiful, 15 min for $2, better than most camping locations we had come across.

Read moreWe asked the visit center ranger to find this place. Our kids love to swim and it was so hot. We could not resist. The water was so good. Some parts were cold and other were little warm. The sand was one of the unique. You need to drive with your car to go to the swimming area. You need to be careful to not sink in sand. The sand is very high here and you need to have energy to go down or go up. It was not really crowded and family friendly place. Restrooms are nice but no water.
