We stayed here for over a week and it was hands down the most beautiful campground I’ve ever stayed at, first of all. It’s stunning, waking up next to this each day is beyond my wildest dreams. The staff working the national park gates and camp shop were kind and wonderful. I feel like I just need to mention a few things. Showers are token based. They don’t take quarters but you have to change your dollars to tokens in the laundry room. No problem. That’s fine with me—the shower (the one time we got one) was warm and had good pressure. However — the first time we tried to get tokens, the machine was out of order and the camp store was closed (they close at 12). The second time, we got a nice shower (our one and only) The third time we tried, someone had put quarters in all of the showers so they were all out of order and there was no one to call or talk to, so we had to get back dressed, go to other showers (you access from the outside) only to have the machines eat our tokens because quarters were stuck in them as well. Maybe some signage in the showers could help this. Lastly I’ll mention, at the campground the bathrooms get really gross between Saturday and Wednesday because they don’t clean them during those days. I can understand being short staffed or something so I was like “oh well” except that the dish sink at the campground was out of order so other campers washed their dirty dishes in the bathroom sinks and didn’t clean up after themselves which is a no no, and some were pretty gross about the 3 toilets to choose from, leaving used hygiene products and other things on the seats. Bleh. It was nice to have running water but I think because we chose this site for the running water, camp sink, and showers, it was a tiny bit of a let down. I am only leaving this review so maybe some processes can be updated but otherwise this was a great site and like I said incredibly gorgeous.

We stayed at this hidden gem from November 13- 27, 2022. We were able to book a site online. Upon arrival the staff was friendly and gave us information on our site. This stunning lake nestled in the heart of the desert exceeded all our expectations and provided an unforgettable experience for our family. We were in site A-1 a spacious and well-maintained lake view pull through site with full hook ups. The site was level and long enough for our truck, 5th wheel and car. The view was nothing short of spectacular, especially during sunrise and sunset. The campground offers a wide range of amenities to make your stay comfortable and convenient. Free Wi-Fi, clean bathrooms, hot showers, an on-site convenience store, restaurant, and boat rental services. The park is also pet friendly, though we did have some issues with goat heads from time to time both on our shoes as well as our dogs getting some stuck in their paws when they weren’t wearing their shoes. Wahweap's natural beauty is its biggest draw and should be on everyone’s bucket list. The campsite's proximity to Lake Powell allows for endless water-based adventures. Whether you're into boating, kayaking, or simply lounging on the beach, this place has it all. The red rock formations surrounding the area provide a stunning backdrop for exploration and photography. If you're an outdoor enthusiast, there are plenty of nearby things to see and explore. The campsite also offers guided tours and boat cruises. We took the Antelope Canyon tour, and I will say it was well worth it. It was absolutely like nothing we had ever experienced before. We also went to the horseshoe bend during sunset. Both iconic attractions are a MUST SEE!! I would highly recommend this campground for anyone looking to visit the Page, Arizona area.

Well maintained RV park and campground, with a lovely store for necessities and souvenirs. You will have to pay $30+ fee to enter the area, unless you have a NP pass. Good for 7 days. Level sites on concrete pads, weed free common areas, lots of trees, and metal picnic tables (no splinters) and fire rings (pay attention to restrictions during the drought). Clean toilets and dumpsters near all sites. Store is a bit overpriced $11 for 2 bags of ice! Showers are $2.00, coins only, and near the registration desk, so this could be a long walk depending on site location. We were in F-Loop, so very close. Beware in summer: THERE IS NO POOL. Expect to walk a far distance (about a mile from most sites) or 3/4 of a mile from public access parking lot, and it's a hot walk. The following is a cautionary tale for trip planning: if you have younger kids, plan ahead and rent a boat, paddle board, kayak, or jet skis, etc. from the Lake Powell Marina (closest), they get sold out weeks in advance. Our guided tour on a sunset "cruise" was cancelled due to lowest water levels in history on Lake Powell. Ultimately we cut our trip short and left a night early, because we had run out of things to do in Page. We had been on an Antelope Canyon tour (must see!) and saw Horseshoe Bend. But without water activities preplanned, that's about it for Page, as most Museums were still closed due to Covid. And yes expect to wait forever on the phone to talk to a person which is VERY frustrating. We arrived a day late and they had no record of us calling (believe me, we did) and charged us a $60 fee. Luckily they didn't give our spot away. We continue to try and get a hold of someone to recover the $60 fee.

So sad that we were disappointed with Wahweap Campground. We've stayed here before and it was a positive experience. This time it was the opposite. The facilities are great -- clean, well maintained, spread out (though I'd encourage them to think about changing the direction of the sites so that RVs naturally get a view of the lake rather than backwards and looking at the parking lot). The poor review is entirely about management. The staff that checked me in were rude and like I was bothering them to check in. They are also only there until 4pm with no answering service to help if you arrive after that. At check-in, they failed to give me "tokens" you need to shower (what? why? silly) but then wrote down that they had given them. So when we found through trial and error that we needed tokens, I had to argue with them that we never got the tokens. AND our reservation was a large pull through site for 4 days. They gave us 4 shower tokens (3 tokens = one 8 minute shower -- hope you don't have long hair). We had 5 people in our party over 4 days. Really? So 4 of us can shower once in 4 days. Ridiculous. You have to pay extra for more showers: $3 for 8 minutes.

We've RV'd all over the country from east to west and north to south. We've only run into a few RV resorts that we were this frustrated with. It's a shame because all the facilities are great and they have the potential to provide an excellent experience and they failed.

Also, it's not like this is a cheap place to stay. The reservations alone are a hefty amount plus you have to pay a "resort fee" of $15 that doesn't give you access to the resort at all (staff said it was for maintaining the sites and the grey water -- isn't that what the reservation fee is for?). Additionally, you have to pay $30 to get into the Glen Canyon Recreational Area to even get to the campsite -- no other option. And if you have a car in tow, you have to pay $30 twice. Dollars add up for an overall poor and disappointing experience.

Stay elsewhere. Try Roam. We drove past it and it looked...

Mediocre at best We’ve stayed at the Wahweap campground for two nights. Sadly, it wasn’t a great experience. There were a couple of issues.

Service fee So, there is a daily service fee of around $15. That’s a lot considering a night at the campground is approx. $30, that’s about 50%. For a site at a campground… The international average service fee for a hotel room would be somewhere between 10-20% of the nights rate. Again: we’re staying at a campground, not in a hotel.

More importantly: Wahweap RV & Campground is not transparant enough in these costs. The confirmation mail writes about a service fee ‘in addition to the room rate’, but states no clear price in the confirmation mail. First: we’re not staying at the hotel. Second: just write down the service fee rate. Don’t hide it somewhere on an imo vague webpage about facilities and amenities.

Additionally, the service and provided facilities - that are cause to the high service fee - are meagre imo. We’ve experienced that WiFi is either unavailable or very weak at different spots, at least in Loop 1.

You do receive a complimentary shower a day, but just one a day. So if you’re staying with three people for two nights, you’d only receive two complimentary showers.

Weather at campground The place is susceptible for wind gusts. Our first night, our tent collapsed due to strong wind. We had to get out in the night to fix it. The day after, the staff was unable to tell us whether this was something usual and whether it would potentially happen other nights.

Of course, Wahweap RV & Campground is not responsible for bad weather. However, in my opinion, you should be aware of (local) weather phenomena that could greatly impact your camping experience.

All together, it feels like the Wahweap campground is an afterthought; not a main priority of Lake Powell...
