Taking the Palm Springs aerial you have an amazing opportunity to see spectacular views from top of San Jacinto. We took the desert view trail which is easy to follow and found the 5 lookout points noted as “ notches.” Make sure to see all of them. There are two quite close to each other and easy to miss. The pics above show 3 of these. The hike is easy but there are a few large rocks to maneuver through. Also if you have little ones please note to keep them near as you are at edge of this beautiful peak. People with difficulty walking will be able to enjoy the beginning of trail which is paved but it will then change to dirt and occasional uneven terrain. Read moreAmazing view along the Desert View trail. We arrived at 9am on July 5th to catch the Palm Springs Tramway to the Mountain Station at the top. The rotating floor allows views from all angles. After grabbing a cup of coffee from the café, we proceeded to the hiking trail. There are 2 to choose from: the shorter Long Valley Nature trail and the Desert View trail, we picked the latter.
