My experience with the staff is what I always base my experiences on. As beautiful going to the top of the mountain is and experiencing the overlook over the city of palm springs, everything is based on how EVERY single staff member treats the visitors coming and spending their hard earned money so they can come again and again, also refer their families and friends to visit their too.
Well my experience ended up as a negative one which is sad because I had my 19 yr old daughter visiting from NJ and I hoped that this establishment would have taken better care on the simple task of communicating with us.
Here is the breakdown... we get to parking lot and see signs that the elevator going from the ground floor to the main floor area was broken, that's cool with us because walking us very beneficial for the heart! We get to the main desk to get our tickets and meet a sweet older gentleman who welcomed us and gave us a bit information. I asked him how the restaurant was looking, if we needed Reservations etc, which he replied that it has not been busy so you guys should be alright... awesome, at this time I am telling my daughter how amazing the restaurant is, food, service, ambiance, etc.... I built it up due to the past years of coming here. We enjoyed the tram ride going up, and enjoyed the view up there.... then we go to the restaurant...
This was around 130 pm ish, date 1/13/22, and I did not get the greeters name because I just had to get away from her... when I asked about getting a table she asked if I had a reservation while looking at her book. I replied stating that we did not make one, but the gentleman from front desk stated that you guys werent so busy so it would be okay... her reply was very condescending, lots of attitude as if we were bothering her, overall not welcoming and lacking of compassion, she stated, "yeah, no... we are only taking reservations at this time, sssoorrryyy, but we are short staffed" that in itself just ruined the whole experience for us. I wouldn't have minded if we were nicely informed that we are so short staffed that we can only take a certain number of people and thats why we are only taking reservations so can properly serve our guests vs to them having to wait a longer period of time.
