Evergood Adventure Wines — Attraction in Palmer Lake

My dad was visiting from Oklahoma last week and we were able to head over to Evergood Elixirs and take a tour. We've had their lemon wines many times before, but it was cool to see the process. It's not your typical winery with oak barrels stored on racks all over the place, as the tannins in the oak would not be a very good compliment to a lemon wine. That being said, their operation is very interesting, very sanitary, and very high tech. Impressive to say the least! We were lucky enough to be there when they were filling their 6.5oz collapsible and refillable flasks. Pops and I agreed that these things are perfect for hiking, camping, fishing, or any other outdoor activity where you don't want an empty bottle or can taking up space in your pack. Awesome idea!!! Wines were delicious and refreshing. Staff was incredible and very inviting!...especially since pops had been helping me with electrical work all morning and we didn't plan ahead enough to change out of our work clothes, LOL! 🤦‍♂️ Our bad. But we were able to walk away with a great experience, some really good knowledge, and some amazing lemon wines. Even if you don't have time to schedule a tour, I highly recommend checking your local store for a bottle or flask. They have a good variety, but I like the Snow Bunny the best. Update: Heartwarmer (like German mulled wine but better) in the cold season is awesome! Cant say enough good things about Evergood Elixers. My wife and I started with one of their Groupons for a tour/presentation/sampling of their wines and story - bought at least 4 more to take family and friends! It’s not your typical wine, it’s more refreshing and it doesn’t leave you with a headache like some wines do. Plus it’s low in sugar. I also like to use Skier Pee in place of lemon juice in any cocktail.

Favorite recipe is for a Huckleberry Martini: 1.5 oz Skier Pee (or 1 lemon) 2.5 oz Koenig Huckleberry Vodka 1.5 oz Cranberry Juice (or juice cocktail) 0.5 oz Simple Syrup Sugar, to rim the glass (optional)

Combine Skier Pee (or 1oz lemon juice), vodka, cranberry juice and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into martini glass.

(Optional) Juice lemon and use rind to wet rim of martini glass. Pour sugar onto plate. Gently press wet rim of glass into sugar. Strain shaken mix into...
