Palmer Lake Regional Recreation Area — Attraction in Palmer Lake

The lake small wonderful. A Frisbee golf course that runs along the Santa Fe trail. Just be careful of some of off road bicycles.. and a hint to the bike people when you scream left or right.hikers people walking their dogs and others are enjoying the beautiful surroundings. I've never said I had a problem with a bicyclist scary couple times cuz they yell left and that meansdon't jump to the left most very polite but there are some that don't slow down not just here but other trails. And don't try to say hi when they come the other way because 99% won't even acknowledge your there.. if anyone wants to dispute that we could always do a little test.and you can count how many people ignore you how many people give you that look . The look of why are you in my way or how come your dog is in my way. if you're a man 40-ish wearing your spandex colored outfits. When you walk around in them when you're off the bike it's like walking around the pool in a speedo. Not very flattering. Has anyone outside of the bike world ever said great outfit. I never thought that ever. Females you all look great. On the road you are the smallest vehicle on the trails you are the largest vehicle give me my 3ft and go slow around. You'll ride in the middle of the street sometimes but get mad when people walk in the middle of the trail and don't hear youcoming how about a really cool Bell to go along with your cool outfit. And if I ran your dog over driving down your street you would not be happy don't run my dog over. It's just an observation but makes area a little less nice. Funny don't get no argument with me over Spandex and all the benefits doesn't matter. Ever here at the pool that guy's got an nice very colorful Speedo....

It's very pretty, but the people have no manners. A group of about thirty extremely loud people showed up all at once today, possibly some ROTC group. They set up their party on and around my beach towel, let their dogs off leash and run up to my leashed dog. Their kids were swimming, screaming and trying to lure my dog to them, they had another dog tied to something barking nonstop for about twenty minutes before I left. Mind you, there's plenty of space at this lake, they chose to set up right in front of the parking lot on the walking path, taking up at least fifteen feet to either side. Trash everywhere even on my belongings. Whatever group that was should be banned permanently, but otherwise...

Pretty little lake with lots of potential. Hosts a disk golf course, picnic areas, handicap accessible fishing, and a playground. There is a foot path encircling the lake. I fish there weekly because it is so close, but it is a highly pressured lake with lots of activity. During the week, it is relatively calm but can still become overrun very quickly. Forget about fishing there on the weekends, unless you want to contend with nonstop blaring music and paddleboarders every 15 feet.This place needs more CPW presence to check fishing licenses, enforce the no swimming policy, and needs to implement restrictions on personal watercraft capacities on the lake at...
