I honestly wouldnât even give them a 1 they are so bad.... I called and made an appointment for a hair trim and highlights all over, got quoted at 80-100$, reasonable for an amatuer. Show up to my appointment and the lady already seemed to not know what she was doing. Kept calling over other people and relying on there input and suggestions, yet not really listening. She upped the price to over 150$ which I was annoyed with but whatever. The entire time i was in the chair other stylists and clients kept giving me aweful looks and just shaking there head no.... my eyes were watering before my hair was even rinsed..... my highlights werenât even from my roots, they were starting weâre my hair growth was at. They were 4 different colors...... I asked for one pink under panel, figuring since they literally specialize in color atleast they could get that right, no, that wasnât even completely pink, it was half orange/yellow/purple............ I told the owner of the store aswell as my stylist how dissatisfied I was and how my hair literally looked almost identical, if not WORSE than when I walked in... they still made me pay. Didnât even offer to fix it or anything, just gave me some free samples.... I had almost every stylist in that salon working on my hair, they even worked late. And my hair was horrendous. Do not ever go here, do not ever trust them to ruin your hair......... they donât have enough morals or ethics to even admit when they messed up and attempt to make it right, thatâs how bad this salon is. WORST IN THE STATE...
Read moreI hate this place and I will never go back! They screwed up my hair big time! I had asked for caramel highlights to give depth to my light brown hair. The girl said it was no problem. I had never had my hair dyed before, but I knew something wasn't right when she put my hair in big foils instead of using a cap. When she was done foiling my hair, she went to the back for an hour! I could feel and smell my hair burning. I had to ask another hairstylist to grab the lady who did my hair from the back, because I think my hair was done. The lady came out checked my hair and said, "Oh! It looks soooo pretty!" However, I could tell from everyone else's faces it did NOT look good. The stylist refused to let me see my hair until it was done. When I looked in the mirror I was shocked! My hair had thick chunks of a yellow blonde color with hardly any brown! It was so not at all what I had asked for. In shock, I payed for my hair and then went outside and cried. My friend tried to tell me it wasn't that bad, but after I cried out, "I look like Narssisa Mafloy!" She laughed and admitted it was pretty bad. I went across the street and bought myself a hat. After my mom saw my hair she encouraged me to call them and say what had happened. They told me I could get it fixed, but i had to wait two weeks to get it fixed. I was humiliated and angry. To reverse it, they had to dye my hair a SUPER dark red color and my hair has never been the same. Worst hair salon I have ever been to! If I could give it 0 stars or negative...
Read moreShear Fire is hands-down the best salon I've been to in my life as far as hometown friendliness and comfort in working with you to get the style you want. As a woman with short hair, I have had difficulty getting a decent cut in Palmer my whole life - then Shear Fire comes along and isn't scared to get fun and edgy with hair. This isn't your grandma's salon!
The owner is incredibly knowledgeable, passing down her skills and know-how to many of the students who work there. While the prices of the professionals are great, you can save even more by getting a student haircut (supervised by an instructor). The pricing in this way is competitive with those out-of-state chains that are creeping in.
With quite a few chairs, it's usually pretty easy to get a cut whenever you need, if you are a walk-in and don't mind who cuts your hair. The atmosphere is fire-fighter-themed and shouldn't turn away those manly-menfolk who avoid salons on the...
