Very beautiful place. Well kept bathrooms. Primitive camping is amazing here if you don't mind giant black ants and bring lots of bug spray for ticks. We used Irish spring soap and a cheese grater to keep ants and ticks away, which works great in most any situation for pest control and is safe for the environment. We just shred it all around our campsite and especially around the table. Works great so far with citronella candles. We camped in lot 63 which was awesome for shade and being close to the bathrooms. But beware, the squirrels are SAVAGES and will steal your food lol. Nothing is safe from them. Maybe some squirrel feeders would help (hint hint) if they were place and kept full around the campground. We loved the swimming circle at the lake. The kids found lots of shells and muscles. There are steps into the water and a nice wall at the waters edge. The lodge is gorgeous! There is an amazing aviary here as well as lots of courts to play ball, trails to walk, all kinds of wildlife. The campstore by the primitive sites has a cool lil free library with books and DVDs! There is also a laundry are here. $3 to wash and dry. There are also water pumps located around the campsites for clean water access. At the swimming circle, we saw an eagle who must have a nest close by because we saw it often flying over with fish in it's talons. We have checked out all the camp gift shops and stores, everything is so new and the staff is incredibly friendly. We have hiked the wildlife trail and expected to go to the wildlife cabin where we could see and touch native animals, but they aren't open on Thursdays. You can hike the trail, but the nature center isn't accessable until 10am on the weekends I believe. If you do make happen to be in the park while the nature center is open I highly recommend stopping in. There is a very nice exhibit, animals to hold, and very knowledgeable staff! Highly recommended for...

Absolutely gorgeous mid west destination stop for the family who enjoys nature and all the beauty of fresh water fishing. The park was clean and well maintained, and provided ample options of picnic tables available /lounge spots- as well as fishing right off the bank/(piers on the north end). We fished, sunbathed, and enjoyed a grilled supper at sunset on the outdoor grill space located just feet away from the water- our family's favorite part had to be the best unobstructed panaramic water view we have found in Tennessee/ Kentucky- the entire day was absolutely memorizing and delightful! We loved the well thought out landscaping of giant trees that provided beautiful shade during the day, as well as the plush grass near the water for laying out picnic blankets for our baby (who is learning to crawl around). Another noticed perk was there was very few insects which was great as I had forgotten our oil repellants, but they went un-needed which was amazing!! We will definitely mark this as a come back to! Especially finding out our pup can come next time as long as leashed, Also, we found out there is camping available too, tho I hear they fill fast during summer months/holidays! Overall great park to relax with nature-...

I guess I was expecting more..I called the " call center" instead of the actual place and was told I could get a king sized room with a view and a tub...I thought that I was told there was also a jacuzzi on site as well which Is actually why I chose this place bc I was looking around for a jacuzzi ...we got there and was being put in a room with no tub..then we were "accommodated " & we got a double bed room with a tub...get in the room and theres not a handrail for the tub..so I did not get to use the tub or jacuzzi either..and the pool closed at 8 so I didn't get to use it either... The view was great.. The room was clean smelled strongly of bleach..better than smelling bad. The place itself is very pretty... The clerk that we talked to the 1st time we came in to chevk on an early check in was not friendly, like she was on a power trip and couldn't go ask a maid to do a room that she had ppl from another state requesting an earlier chevk in..like it was sweat off of her back..smh What happened to customer service.. The bar area was really nice , service there was exceptional 👌 and food was tasty.. Overall it was ok..I did need some good people and became friends with them..so that...
