Don't sell your items to this place! I sell a lot of antiques and I don't usually sell to them because they give about 1/3 of what they will sell it for. I usually sell my items to an antique store who is extremely honest and kind. He gives me about 1/2 of what he'll sell it for which is perfect because I know he needs to make money on his side. I have 2 items to sell. He is remodling so he couldn't accept anything too big. I was in the area so I reluctantly went into RI Antiques Mall. The owner was there and since I am a gentleman I'll just say that she's not my favorite person. YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT SHE SAID TO ME! After I asked if she was doing any buying she said yes. They are always buying. She told me that if I brought my items in and then decided not to sell to her then I should never try and sell things to her again. So basically she is saaying whatever I offer, you have to accept. In all my years of doing business with antique stores no one has ever said anything like that to me before. I couldn't believe it. Anyway, I'll never set foot in that store again.
The owner responded to my review. ALL LIES. I never wanted them to appraise anything. I sold plenty of items there, and just last week I did want an appraisal on a map and I paid $10 for it. In addition, it is hard to sell items there because they offer rediculously little money. One last thing... I feel that the opposite of love isn't hate. It's indifference and don't really care about what the owner says. I'll never see her...
Read moreI’m so stunned to have had the experience i had here. I brought in an assortment of about 8 or so items in a bag. I was told someone would be right with me to look at the items so i stayed close to the register. Especially since i had a big bag on my shoulder. This woman comes up to me and asks me if the records in my bag were the stores records or mine. I was thrown back and stated i had some items i wanted to sell. I put all my items on the counter and she started looking one of them up. After the first item she started cashing out other customers and just ignored the fact i was standing there. After the third customer, i was like ok, this is rude. She finally came back and took an item that i already had appraised at 175.00 and told me she could sell it at 15.00! I was like umm ok, i need to check on that one. After that she said “i’m going to have to pass on the rest of the stuff. I don’t need to be giving out free appraisals. If i was to do that, i wouldn’t be able to make a living.” I literally was so floored by her unnecessary rudeness that i just took my things and left. I didn’t ask for any free appraisals, nor did i need any. If she wanted to give me a price that’s not a joke i would of just sold it right there. That’s what you do…you give me a price and i agree or disagree. And this happened after just ONE ITEM. What an incredibly rude person....
Read moreWoman that works there called me a racoon... not sure why.. never seen her before in my life. But every time I go there there's always some weird comment made to me. Weird..
Reply: I went there with my husband yesterday (Memorial Day)
I walked past the counter to look at the display cases.
I've been there multiple times over the years and have had some of the weirdest interactions with the staff. Notably one where a woman approached me and asked why I didn't say hello to her while I was browsing, another woman asked if my husband was "bothering me and if she needs to do something about it" another time I purchased a jester doll and was asked " you just like the drama don't you?"
I guess it could be chalked up to "paranoia" but I felt it needed to be said. And yes , I write a lot of reviews on google for companies where the bad experience stood out the most not including my other highly positive reviews on other platforms, I guess it must just be me. 🤷🏾♀️ I've always liked coming here but with your snarky, unprofessional response and high prices I'm all set with this place. I'm sure you don't care but I felt it needed to be said.
Keep up the good work.. it sounds like business is doing great since you have so much time to sit around and "watch movies" on what is supposed to be a...
