Hotel staff at Silver Star were great. There was a horrible cocktail waitrss on the floor. She passed us three times without asking if we wanted anything. Finally asked the floor manager if someone was working the area. She said next time you see her just holler at her bc she's the only one working this area. I did just that after she passed us by two more times. When I told her what the manager said she very rudely said "NOT ME....DON'T NOBODY HOLLER AT ME." Lost lots of money in the slots and at the card table. There was no live entertainment and it was a Saturday night. They did give $50 free play for new players which was nice. Also, there was a pit manager named Roger from Meridian who was very nice. Bathroom was deplorable there. I compared it to a truck stop bathroom, and not the good kind. Went across the road to the Golden Moon and much better atmosphere. Won money in the slots and they had a very nice live band playing later that night. Music was great and we were able to dance. Bathrooms at the Moon were so much nicer! Clean and smelled really nice. The people across the road could definitely take some pointers from the Moon.

We were in the mood for some crab legs! The Pearl River resort & casino has all-you-can-eat crab legs every Friday night. We had a moderate wait in line to be seated for the buffet. There were five of us in our group and we were seated at a round table in the corner of the dining room, which suited us just fine. We went straight for the crab legs and had another moderate wait in line at the buffet. The crab legs are help yourself so, I loaded up two plates with some very nice looking crab legs. They were juicy and delicious! They were not quite as crispy as I would have liked but, they did strip out the majority of the time. I cannot say much for the other food because, we all ate just crab legs. If you are in the mood for some, you cannot go wrong here for 40 bucks a head. If you ever find yourself craving some crab legs, be sure to give them a go. Also, hold onto your receipt. If you have to leave the dining area to use the restroom, you will need your receipt to get back in.

Hotel is decorated in dark browns and neutrals. Currently, every guest is temperature checked upon entry and face masks are required. This is one of the very few hotel still hosting Texas Holdem tournaments, as many casinos across the country and canceling their events due to Covid 19. There has been an INSANE turn out for this series and I see the casino was not prepared for this type of crowd. They pulled dealers from the floor to accommodate the poker tournament. Many players waited over 2 hours after buying in, to get to play. Food is somewhat limited unless you love hotdogs and burgers. Most of the restaurants are closed or limited to adult-only crowd. They also have a really nice pool that is heated and glassed in. It is still an outdoor pool. The pool is open and easily seen by all casino guests. Finally, the rooms are dark and lighting is very limited. Totally fine during the day with the window open.

This is probably the worst casino I have ever been to. And I have been to SEVERAL. Wind Creek in Wetumpka is better than this.

For the record, I have been here several times. Each time it got worse. We will not be back after this last visit.

Most (not all) dealers are rude as hell. Need a drink? Good luck. Took us over 30 minutes sitting at the roulette table to get one. We usually stay at the roulette table all night since we find it most enjoyable. Everyone at the table had to constantly remind the dealer to pay out the correct bets. Bets were not getting paid correctly. The dealer was removing bets off the table after they had been won. The dealer was griping so much about going home that she was handing out wrong chips. The list goes on.

During the middle of our roulette session, the table was stopped by management because apparently the dealer handed out more chips than she should have. We were playing with quarter chips, which we had a good amount of at this point. Management made us return the chips she overpaid, which was reasonable. After that, management told us everything was squared away.

They continued to let us play, and we wrapped up around 4:30 AM. We went to the cashier desk to cash our chips in for the night, which we had several thousand at that point. Again, we were stopped by management and were told we owe the casino over $2,000 because of the DEALER's mistakes. After we were told in the middle of the session that everything was squared away. We were IRATE at this point. Then, of course, we were met with VERY hostile, Paul Blart like security guards. Threatening us and told us if we didn't pay that it would be theft. We paid it because we really wanted to avoid a physical confrontation. Which almost came to that point out of sheer frustration.

In conclusion, after they said we were squared away, they continued to let us play. Hoping we would go broke at the table and still owe them money. We spend a lot of money here just to have fun. Not to be treated like dirt every time we walk in.

By far the worst casino establishment I have ever been in. I've been here at least 4 times in the last 9 months. The Mississippi Gaming Commission will be receiving our complaint this week. You can tell staff hate their jobs. 9/10 of them are extremely rude and dismissive.

The only thing I enjoyed was the walk in tile shower the room had. That's the only reason I gave you a 1 star. If I could give...

This was my first and last time here! I wish I could give this place zero stars but since one is as low as it goes then that is what I have to give. Me and my family came here for the 4th of July and I have to say that it was the WORSE experience I have ever had! I say about 95% of the employees are rude as hell and very unprofessional. The three days that we stayed we ran into about four nice employees, if that. The man that worked at the bar by the pool and the gentleman that took our luggage to the car was awesome! But for the most part we did not feel welcomed here at all! Employees make you feel like you are a huge burden on them. Three girls, I say girls because of how unprofessional they were, at the counter where you get your players card was very childish and rude. When I walked by they looked at each other and was saying harsh things about me and laughing out loud as I was walking by. They weren't even discreet about how rude, unprofessional, and childish they were being. Plus, they were even rude when we did go and get our players cards when we first got there. I ran across that a lot. Not towards me but other employees towards other people. The only thing that was nice was the fireworks. And it definitely wasn't the two old rude ladies that were giving out the wrist bands, they were rude and hateful as well. My mom asked a man at the front desk were we go to get some lunch and he said, after he blowed like bull and rolled his eyes, just go down the hall. Didn't look up at her, didn't give no other direction but "down the hall" when it wasn't just "down the hall" it was basically on the other side of the casino close to The Golden Moon. Plus, there are several halls and he did not specify which one because he did not even look up to make eye contact while speaking to the hotel guest. So we got our food and the ribs were burnt with no meat at all on the bone and the fries was very cold, that was a $100 wasted. The rude and alley employees makes this place look very low budget. I would definitely not recommend this...

2025 is fast closing in and 2026 isn't thst far away. We have had a magnificent time on our trips to Pearl River this year. We're certain hoping to come back soon but economy and life always seems to rule the trips. Just so you guys know... I've read where people complain about no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms. And rude employees. Let help them out for just a moment. Microwaves in rooms are a fire hazard. Things can get put in them that aren't supposed to be and there it goes. Plus... everyone knows how horrific burnt popcorn smells and how long it takes to get the stinch out of your house. You really want Mr. or Mrs. Whomever doing that down the hall allowing it to get into the ventilation system for all to breathe? I don't! As for refrigerators... they do have them but it's a service you must kindly ask for in advance when booking your room. Folks, you have to remember where you are. It's not a new property. It's 30 yrs old. The staff are nice and polite as long as you are. They are very accommodating and gracious. Tip them accordingly and treat them as you should. In the past 8 yrs we've been going... we have discovered one thing above all... if you have an issue, let them know politely. They may not be aware and will always be glad to rectify a discrepancy if they can. But if they don't know and you don't tell them... please don't bad mouth them to others for it. We've got enough ugly going on in this world without trying to add too it when there's no need. Go, enjoy yourself and if you can't, it might not be for you. We are thankful for the kind staff and the efforts they endure to try to keep things going these days in a world gone mad so we can try to forget our cares even if for a couple of days. If a room needs attention... tell them then. Don't wait until you leave then bad mouth them on a review. They don't read reviews. And after the fact isn't going to help you...
