I love our community park. Whoever decided or voted to include no-mow nature zones had the right idea! The park has tons of resident wildlife that can share the space due to this inclusion. As a result, there are many native wildflowers to be seen here. The natural creek provides beautiful plants on its banks, and minnows/crawfish to view. “No dam building” signage reminds visitors to leave the land as they found it, as they should. The man-made lake provides a peaceful view, fishing spot, and regularly hosts families of ducks. I would love to see our community add more trash cans around the park, as litter seems to have increased drastically lately. I had been there several times over the years to watch baseball games or take my youngest to the playground, but this was the first time I'd ever actually walked the path around the park. It is paved, so great for strollers and it winds around the entire border of the park including a loop around a cute pond. Along my walk, I learned that this park is much bigger than I originally thought and has so much to offer. Not only is there a great playground with playsets and swings for both toddlers and older kids, it even has an adult work out area. There are plenty of pavilions, the pond where you can fish, there's a large dog park, and there's even a half pipe skatepark. And of course tons of baseball...
Read moreHad my knee replaced and today walked around the lake. It was nice because there are benches in case I need to sit a moment. I plan to begin walking regularly and the more I strengthen my leg the more I can explore the entire walking trail. This park has only gotten better. It’s very well taken care of and our Community takes a lot of pride in the park. Great place....
