When I first found this place via google search i thought we found a awesome place especially being lgbt friendly, I was excited we booked for a wedding. We got a good package which included a buffet and decoration. The decorations were beautiful... the food was amazing. But wasnt very happy with a few things. We were suppose to have water and tea for wedding the tea was overly sweet. I being diabetic couldnt drink it there was no water out I had to keep asking for it. Then it seemed they turned the air up as it got hot in there. Then the workers were sitting down eating. I was back and forth from my table eating and went to table my food was gone! Then when I said I wasnt done the lady asked what I wanted more of I said potatoes and etc and so I went the food was all put up it was only 7! So she puts some potatoes in a bag and sits them on the table! Then ppl were complaining their cake they were taking home was being thrown in trash! They were cleaning up like it was over when we had the place until 9! Then we didnt even get to take any of the leftover food home! Nothing! That we paid for! Then we had to pay for extra set up time which was extra because they wont let u in the venue til 2hrs prior how is a bride to set stuff up yet get ready! U should be able to pick any time that day to set up! So I had to purchase extra time! Which I didnt even use the 2hrs prior. I had to do a hour before those. And he wouldnt let my photographer in with my DJ to set up... my cake lady drove all way from panama city and he wasnt gonna let her in either. There was no place for me to put on my dress as the bathrooms everyone would have seen me before ceremony when I got there he was going to let me use his office and told me I had to go in alone how was I going to lace my dress myself!! So he let my bridesmaid and photographer in there but seemed kind of annoyed by the whole thing. When he was to meet my photographer Cpl weeks before wedding she waited a hour he was a no show she left then he showed up almost 2hrs late. I regret using the place We spent a lot of money there and feel we got crapped on.
We had our venue there! And yes that is how we were treated. Suspicious??? How when I have the contract. Our venue was there in Feb! We went on our honeymoon and then covid hit but the more I thought about it and passed the place it is upsetting. So I left a review. And I have many ppl that were there to back...
Read moreThe Pensacola Improv is a nice venue. My wife and I took a liking to the vibe when we walked in. Space was nice and bar setup was what we wanted. Also, he offers catering and decor, one stop shop. Which was amazing, so we thought. The reason I give one star is due to poor communication. Meetings were setup to meet with the owner Doug. Who was never on time or did not show. The last visit was a no show. Calls were made and voice messages left on business phone and personal cell phone. No phone calls back. January, February, March, April or May. Due to Covid 19 it was explained that the venue was closed but as other businesses calls should have been forwarded to an assistants phone, who would be able to work from home and provide communication to those who actually paid deposits for their events that were scheduled. There was no way to communicate to make final payment or to have questions answered regarding events still being able to be held. How many people could be in the building at one time, nothing. Phone call was received 4 days before wedding/reception to ask if the event was still being held and to request final payment. When young lady was advised that we have been trying to reach someone to speak about the final payment and ceremony the call was transferred to the owner who extended an apology and advised we could reschedule the ceremony. In my eye it was unacceptable and an inconvenience to my wife and I. Refund for the deposit was asked for but denied. Contact doesn’t state that deposit is non refundable if there is lack of communication from the owner or due to global pandemic that was used as an excuse during the contact four days before the wedding. Please take caution before planning special events at this location. Lack of professionalism and consideration for guest. It was heart breaking and stressful to not know if anything regarding your venue/wedding decor for 5 months while...
Read moreFirst off this place is beautiful and spacious! It was a wonderful place for my destination wedding reception. I got the package with the building and DJ, although I felt it was a little too pricey, I paid for it anyway. I explained my family came a long way from Alabama, to enjoy themselves and after paying over $2,000 for 4 hours, I expected more respect. Secondly, I had to set up my entire wedding and was charged $300 the day before the wedding for an extra hour earlier to set up the day off, which I felt was ridiculous. The staff was UNPROFESSIONAL & RUDE ! My guest felt as if they were being watched and baby sat the entire reception. I can’t say the entire staff, but majority and the owner was unbelievably RUDE, especially after the many conversations we had prior to the reception and on MY DAY, to be so rude to my guest and family is wrong!. I got bombarded by the owner, pulled off the dance floor and charged an extra clean up fee of $100 for throw up, that my aunt and mom (NOT THEM) cleaned up, off of my OWN table cloths I provided! & Lastly the DJ was inattentive !!!! I provided a playlist that wasn’t played, he didn't even play the correct father and daughter song. No music was played for my guest until my husband and I was in the parking lot of the space (so they sat in silence) & Not only did he not introduce my wedding party but he didn’t even announce my husband and I . I wrote all that information down and handed it in a month before my wedding. I say all this to say, this is a beautiful space with wonderful potential but you can’t take money from people and treat them any kind of way, no matter the occasion and this was one of the most important days of my life. Hence why I’m writing this review a little late, but it...
