Fairmount Park Horticulture Center — Attraction in Philadelphia

Our wedding was at the Fairmount Horticultural Center in October. The day was absolutely magical! Every single detail came together in a way that absolutely exceeded every expectation that I ever had for my wedding! It was just perfect in every way. My family and friends couldn’t get over the space and how different it was from your typical wedding. I need to say that Gail helped us navigate moving our wedding due to Covid and answered every frantic email I had to finalizing the details. For the day of Adam Fisher was the MVP he was incredibly helpful and since I didn’t have a coordination stepped up on a huge way for us. I will forever be great full for the hard work and attention to detail for the whole team there! They made my day perfect and I didn’t worry about a single thing! Beautiful, sprawling park and one of my favorites. Props to the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation department for maintaining this and our other public parks.

At the height of the warm seasons, there's a long rectangular water fountain (30ft maybe?). Tucked on one end near the Horticultural Center are three smaller gardens, some growing food. The Center has a lovely greenhouse to explore. It also has programs where you can pick up compost, or use their nursery for seedlings.

On the other end of the park is a gazebo, a sundial surrounded by trees, two rows of cheery trees (go in june/july to see them blossom), two metal horse sculptures and the Japanese Tea House and Garden (separate fee-based entry for the tea house). I went to a wedding here in the Autumn. I must say it was a very beautiful venue, with the beautiful lights and plants. But a wedding is a combination of venue, meal, and service. The food was fine, I know there is only one caterer permitted there, and they did a nice job. Considering the location and cost of this venue, I expected much better service. The servers, they were just plain rude. They looked at us rudely, would not answer if we asked them a question, and once we asked for anything, never came back. I know its hard to find staff recently, all restaurants seem to be having their problems, but there was a supervisor there to make sure everything ran smoothly, and they didn't even listen to him.
