MTN VIEW PARK 9901 N 7TH AVE Phoenix AZ: Awesome - Including a designated park for Drones! Awesome Mtn View Community Garden (Part of "Keep Phoenix Beautiful"; ... Formerly: "Phoenix Renews"). Accessable Mountain Trails Part of Phoenix Mountain Preserve, here at Mtn View Park, that also link here with trails to both the N Central Ave Access Parking Lot {Accessable N Central Ave & Thunderbird Rd, S. Bound from Traffic Lights through residential area on N Central Ave, to Dead End at the Phoenix Mtn Preserve Parking Lot/North Side of North Mtn, For: Trailhead to the 19th Ave N Mtn Summit & Communications Towers}, as well as to the 7TH ST Visitor's Center & Parking Lots (across from the Pointe Hilton Property East Side of N 7TH ST, opposite the 7ST Summit/Radio Tower {Broad/Wide Freshly Paved Asphalt Summit Trail to N Mtn 7TH ST Summit, Also accessible from the 7TH ST South Parking Lots and Ramadas, N Mtn Preserve Parking Lot at Unpaved Trailhead Base linking to the fully paved Summit Trail, as well as brief walk from this parking lot North along 7TH ST park trail, just around to the Base of the paved Summit Trailhead *gated at 7TH ST, currently not open to public cars/trucks, only for Service Maintenance Working Traffic -- BUT open for all public pedestrian and bicycle access, from the freshly paved Trailhead Base to up to the N 7TH ST Summit}. *Just knowing about this amazingly accessible and fully paved Trailhead to Summit option, albeit out of sight of the parking lot with the unpaved Trailhead base that is awesome and joins with the paved Summit Trail, but that is not realistically usable for strollers, non off road bicycles, etc., and which personally, I'm glad to be able to take my Dad at 84yrs (& able bodied to go on the paved Summit Trailhead, vs., not able to realistically deal with the rugged Summit Trailhead Base at the parking lot) up to enjoy this incredible, paved public free access, to all ages and skill levels, to participate at their own pace and positive health and wellness pacing, to walk/bike/stroller/powerchair-assist, on this beautiful breathtaking scenic gem of a Summit Trail (close to Piestewa Peak Summit Trailhead in Phoenix, for visitors to Phoenix/and New Residents to the Valley of the Sun). I'm proud of our incredible Phoenix Mountains Preserves Valley-Wide Publicly Accessible Mtn Parks and Trails - and wishing to share these inclusive details, albeit lengthier for those interested in reading through, who maybe {like myself until recently}, did not know of, but also maybe have an 84yr Dad or Mom, or special needs accessible family or friends who might really love to avail themselves of this uniquely accessible paved Trailhead to Summit venue (🌬️cool weather🌬️🌡️October through April/May...
Read moreThe comment above said homeless sleep there. That's correct. The question is: do they bother? For the most part no! I've spent a lot of time advocating and assisting homeless, mostly in that area. I've made some homeless friends there. Most are humble, respectful people that had stuff happen during their life that set them back and like most of us, they didn't have family to go back to, so there they are. Some have way more ambition than some of us that take our jobs, homes and cars for granite. They are survivors and for the most part are still looking to help people and even share their meals. They are human beings, just like us, with feelings, emotions, the works and they are being judged and looked down on :( This is one of the only places I know they can be without being harassed. So, it's a beautiful park, kid and dog friendly and maybe when we visit, we can either not stare at the homeless human beings or we can choose to introduce ourselves and hear their story and help...
Read moreThis park is always clean and it's well lit at night. Nice green, well kept grass. Public restrooms are also kept clean and stocked. Has a soap dispenser and hand blow dryer. There's little work-out/fitness stations set up following the sidewalk path around the park. There's a beautiful community garden area that's fenced in. Plenty of ramadas, a basketball court, and a playground. There's also a drinking fountain and lots of trees for shade. The back of the park area meets up with the nature preserve and the mountain hills and hiking trails. This area is cool to visit in the earlier morning hours because the critters are hopping everywhere. I've seen rabbits, squirrels and chipmunks, hummingbirds, quail (with babies behind), all sorts of different lizards, and even a coyote...
