Creative Carvers — Attraction in Pigeon Forge

UPDATE: Owner saw my review. He contacted us to say there was a mix up and that he accidentally overcharged us $50. He sent us a check for $50 and an apology note. He said it was a honest mistake.

We wanted a sign for our campground. A basic sign with our name on it. We were quoted an estimated price of $100-$150. We gave a $100 deposit. Once it was complete we received a text message with a picture of the sign. It came out very nice but we were told it was another $100. We saw signs in downtown Pigeon Forge that were similar that went for $65. The quality of the work was very good, but these guys 100% definitely took advantage of us because we were out of towners. In total we spent $300 for our sign and 2 little tree bears. I would say BUYER BEWARE!!! Get a firm price from them before you do business with them. Also do your research so you know. You gotta see it, artists work right out there in the yard. The work is amazingly complex. Go and look at it just like you would go into an art gallery, you can be just as intrigued.

Not everyone can afford ART! It's ART! Just because it's done on logs with a chainsaw, or because the gallery is displayed outdoors, not inside where it's served with wine doesn't make it less so. Sculptures are expensive as there is a creative mind involved that is a singular resource for the work, not just wood. (I was just reading the 3 star reviews about prices 😂). Ratings should not be based upon one's ability to pay but on the work itself, perhaps on the gracious interaction you are allowed to enjoy with the artists. What a fantastic spot to pic up cool log carvings. I had company in yesterday from Florida and we did a little tour of the Pigeon Forge area and found this amazing carving place. They have been wanting a carved black bear. They don’t just have your cookie cutter log carvings. They really have some unique artwork here. They have characters from Skylander and dungeons and dragons and so many unique pieces that I’ve never seen before. We were able to meet one of the artists “Dog” and the owner JB. we spent so much time talking to the two of them and finding out about their craft and their shop and couldn’t be more impressed with both of them and this gallery.
