You are on the side of a mountain, some of the houses have a 20 to50 ft drop from the deck. Stunning views, trees were cut back. $3.4k for 10 days (3 BR-10-2021), fees, fees, fees. Depending who you rent from, lots of hands get cash. Rather new homes, a few more coming. Parking at you rental is two cars, other locations further away are possible. Huge specific contract. Some upper windows do not have shades, so seasonal sun can flood certain areas in the house. Hope you have 4WD, very steep roads, at night the headlights do not illuminate your 90 degree turns. Two sewer manholes are 3"+ above the roadway (10/2021), so low sedans be careful. Some areas have cars parked at an angle, very tight drive by. Comcast cable at our rental (130 MB down), but had a few times Internet went down 5 - 10 min. Checking at a 11pm problem, the cable modem had rebooted ? Came back after that. There is a pool at the bottom, there is parking there. It would be a long hard hike walking back to most rentals there, so wet swimmers need to be driven home. Our rental had plenty of hot water. The "fireplace" is electric... just a light, no heat at all. It seem most units are not handicapped accessible. You are away from the crowds, a few stores just at the nearby light: pizza, milk-bread, alcohol, gift shop.

We stayed in the Elegant Moose. The cabin was beautiful and very comfortable. My family was able to make themselves right at home. The development however should be ashamed of themselves. The dumpster has trash all around it. We watched multiple outsiders pull into the development and put trash outside the dumpster. If you have a problem with the locals using your dumpster maybe you need to move it somewhere they can't get to or not in plan sight. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Cabin was beautiful. Various plumbing issues. Ground floor of the cabin was very cold and the heat did nothing to help with this (and couldn't be adjusted). The fireplace would fix this problem but no heat was coming out of it and it was making a loud squeaking sound. Overall, I'd recommend staying in this cabin and probably the other cabins in this group. Just be prepared for there to be problems here and there.

We had a group of 10 people rent The Big Black Bear Lodge, when we were first investigating cabins we called and asked if this was a motorcycle friendly parking area and was advised absolutely. After an all-day ride from Central Florida we went to the check-in facility which is 30 minutes from the cabin by the way that went smoothly we continued on through heavy traffic to the cabin on a Sunday afternoon, Upon arrival at the cabin we found the parking to be atrocious all straight uphill luckily there was a small gravel lot we were able to put the bikes in at night and lock together. The cabin itself is very nice however it seems like you are in an apartment complex of log cabins none of the photos represent that they are on top of each other you're certainly not in the woods with mountain views. Apparently the cabin is also not insulated as the temperature on the main floor and upper floor remained at or near 80 degrees until after midnight every night we were there. They advertise the cabin as capable of sleeping 13 however they only give you 8 towels and washcloths you also need to bring your own toilet paper and paper towels. One of the sleeping areas is a hide-a-bed couch on the third floor with wide open windows that you can see into from the outside. There were cheap plastic chairs on the front deck one of which was broken and taken away by the trash people as we were arriving. The pool table is not at all level and appears very cheap the metal corners kept falling off onto the floor I had a fear of bumping into it and having to purchase them a new pool table. The mantle on the main floor is a mess of wires and routers and cable boxes you would think someone renting this cabin would have pride enough to install these things properly rather than throwing The Rat's Nest up on the mantle. In the end the place did serve its purpose we had a good time despite any troubles but don't be fooled into thinking this is a secluded cabin in...

We just returned from a long weekend at Big Black Bear Lodge, and I have to say it was one of the most unpleasant homes I have ever stayed in. We arrived around 4 PM and the check in process was fine, however when we got to the cabin everything took a turn for the worse. The cabin was A LOT smaller than than the pictures make it seem, which I could accept if the place was functioning and clean. We walked in and it was hot, the air conditioning on the first floor didn't work, the toilet on this level also wouldn't flush. After further inspection, the toilet in the basement wasn't functioning either. We called to see about getting it fixed as soon as we felt how hot it was (around 4:30). You get routed to a call center and they prioritize your issue with others, needless to say it was around 7:30 PM before someone came out to fix the air. Then another person had to be sent to fix the toilet after another call was made to request it to be fixed...it was ar9 PM before a plumber was there to fix the toilet. We had 13 people with 1 functioning toilet for 5 hours. On top of all those issues, the house was filthy, meaning the floors didn't look like they had been mopped in a really long time ( my socks turned brown after walking across the floor), the bathrooms all had mold in them (on the shower curtains and floors), there is a bunch of dirt under the furniture that looks to have been there for a long time, and the carpet is disgusting. I would not recommend this cabin to anyone without a thorough cleaning and some significant...
