The best value in South Florida!
This is by far the most fun you can have in South Florida for only $5 ($3 for seniors), specially if you have kids. The Gardens are beautiful and very well kept, lots of shade so it's a pleasant place to visit even in the summer. There are creeks and water features full of gorgeous, giant fish, turtles, as well as a koi pond. There's also a central pond with swans, as well as wild peacocks running and flying around.
There's a really nice variety of trees, flowers, and other beautiful and exotic plants, the bamboo area is nice and it's very relaxing to sit there and listen to them sway in the wind.
They have a really nice, big playground for kids, as well as a really fun splash park (bring a bathing suit and change of clothes!) and a petting zoo, all included in the admission!
The pavilion at the entrance always has cool art exhibits and a Juan Valdez coffee shop with great service! The Farmers Market on Sundays is by far the best in South Florida and deserves its own review.
Often they hold concerts in the amphitheater, I went to a "Mozart under the stars" one that was fantastic beginning to end, the acoustics are great and it doesn't get better than listening to beautiful music in a beautiful setting!
There is lots of parking, including parking for EVs and it's right next to the public library with its own set of great things to do. Parking does get pretty full on Sundays because of the Farmers Market, but I've never had an issue finding a spot after driving around for a few minutes. Definitely take a Lyft or bike on Sundays if you live nearby to avoid that.
You can also rent three different party spaces, I've been to a few kids parties there and they've been great since the admission is free for your guests, in fact, it's how I discovered this hidden gem. It's also ideal for family photo shoots as there are lots of beautiful settings to take your pictures at, it's even a nice place for a proposal since it's one of the few places in Miami where you can have beautiful swans in...
Read moreI came here to leave a review because some of the bad reviews kept me from coming and honestly, honestly, I was just wasting my time if you don’t appreciate this insanely underrated place you are spoiled beyond belief!!! Just read the signs and head to where you want to go. If you love the outdoors this is the place for you. I brought my 18 months old and she was an absolute heaven. We started at the playground where she met kids her age and the park it’s fantastic. There’s so much for them to climb and explore. I read reviews that it needs to be updated. I mean, I guess but doesn’t every park. I think that’s more of you’re a helicopter parent.. then we went to the splash pad and there were a couple of kids there and my baby had an absolute blast. We went over to the petting zoo although we couldn’t pet any animals which I was fine with she got to see the cow and the goats climbing on the rocks..SO COOL we spent three hours here and there was so much we did an explore because she is just a baby and I am currently pregnant but I will not regret coming here and I will definitely be back. I paid only five dollars for myself because she is a child under two.
Cool we went across the way to cool off in the library, which is equally wonderful. She read a couple of books and I got information on events. They hold there for toddlers. I’m so happy I found this. It is a gem and anyone who doesn’t appreciate it needs a...
Read moreAdmission was $5 for one adult. Parking was free. I came on a Sunday at about 9 am for my first visit. It was really lovely. I visited the farmer's market afterwards. The grounds include large and small ponds, limestone solution holes, huge banyans, a wide variety of well-established plants, an old cottage, a splash park and well-developed playground for kids, a touch garden for kids, goats, rabbits, koi, swans, turtles, and more. It was very peaceful in the morning and very comfortable temperature at this time of year. One of the videos I posted shows a very tall banyan tree with a large well-established bee colony wedged high up in its trunk system. Clearly a lot of care and consideration goes into preserving this place. I will be coming back! One of my photos includes membership prices if you are interested in becoming a member too. There is also a student discount membership. Just $30 per year for year-round admission.
I'd also add, for the sake of any newcomers reading this: the Pinecrest Gardens share a (very beautiful and shady) parking lot with the Pinecrest Library and Community Center. Don't forget to check those out. All three buildings/organizations host a variety of events, programs, and activities for free or at low cost. The Pinecrest community center also contains a well-stocked, modern, and clean small gym. EVERYONE I encountered was friendly...
